I genuinely had to stop and think whether I had the tail as turn module. Took me a moment. I do, LOL.

I had to think about this as well as lighting upgrades seem to be transient mod thoughts as you perform the upgrade then it becomes the new baseline and you forget how the original performed.

I think I bought the tail as a turn module years ago because you and a few others loved it: https://www.diodedynamics.com/2009-2...usdm-pair.html

Looking back, the turns look wrong without it.

I went on to also purchase from DD the License Plate and Trunk light LEDs as well since the combination of the 3 make the rear of the car feel more modern.

I think I also bought the dome light LEDs, but I would have to remove the covers to confirm. I tend to prefer the rest of the incandescent OEM interior lighting as is since LEDs in general feel harsh to me. I actually avoid a couple of local restaurants that went bananas upgrading all of their lighting to LEDs as it makes the atmosphere of the establishment feel too corporate/clinical. There is a science to lighting, but at the same time its very subjective.

This happened...

I think its safe to say we know now where at least a large portion of the 22hp/7tq increase comes from on the IPL and Nismo Z.

I was talking to Eugene at EAC about a tune and told him that I am first looking for a gently used Nismo Z H-Pipe/Mid-Pipe setup; he happened to have one from a customer's Nismo Z that he upgraded when it had only 5-6K miles on the clock.

Don't disagree with that. I've changed all of my interior back to incandescent. One of my other hobbies is flashlights, and as I dove deeper into the rabbit hole, I began to prefer warmer tints and higher CRI. I really wish someone made 4300K-5000K switch back signals...

Did you buy it? Are you sure the Sebring Tuning muffler matches up to it. Those mufflers and tips are so beautiful on the FI exhaust.

We are still analog creatures at our 12K+ year old cores right? I feel the same about recorded media, AM/FM radio, gauges, lighting.

It's sitting in the garage. I think the other issue with those ST mufflers are that they need a bracket welded on which allows them to use the OEM hanger. I wonder if I can buy the mufflers only from FI? Will check.

I think I will try the attach to the Tanabe first, then transition the mufflers later as the Tanabe mufflers are coming up on 10 years old and they still look almost new. They also sound really good now that they are broken in.

Tanabe cans are fine, and they leave the door open for another project. Definitely do that if it works.

Have you heard the Sebring mufflers in person? It's nice.

With cats, I have not. Almost everyone posts clips with test pipes or HFC.

Recall that Sebring Tuning is also local, so I like supporting them and the $200 each price is actually reasonable as it looks like other aftermarket mufflers are roughly the same cost and look nowhere near as good.

The thing is, you can go digital or electric at any time between now and infinity. Analog has a short lifespan, so keep enjoying it while you can. No reason IMO to ever move to a digital tac…

I cleaned and refinished my wiper cowl.

When it gets cold, I have a rattle / popping coming from the passenger dash, so I also added felt to the bottom of the windshield.

Unfortunately, that was not my issue. Drove the car with no cowl and the noise was still there

The good news is the original cowl from 2011 now looks brand new.

Solution Finish is a pretty neat product, I think it’s technically a dye?

Windshield cowl removal seems like it’d be pretty straightforward. I’m going to look into it and turn this into a winter project

Interestingly, way back when I bought a new OEM cowl for my 2004 G35 coupe assuming that over time the original cowl would fade and need to be replaced, To this day, that damn original cowl still looks perfect! Can’t explain it. It seems like cowls, along with headlights, etc have some good batches that look good forever and some bad batches that fade, yellow, etc prematurely.

Yes, I think it's a dye. It definitely stains! I also replaced some of the foam strips, and the foam in the windshield channel.

It was a satisfying project!

Mine was slightly faded, nothing terrible. Solution Finish brought it back to 100%. I had a BMW that had a cowl with a rubber edge that would crack after a few years, and would fade like crazy.

I use Barebones "Dark Shine" undercarriage protectant for all black trim and it's magic. It was recommended to me years ago by a guy that works on restoring CPO cars for dealerships. I would hate to see the MSDS sheet for the product.
