Got my windshield replaced yesterday, Nice to see out of a completely clear, chip and streak free piece of glass. The previous owner must have run the wipers with the metal exposed or something bc there were scratches all over the windshield. Dummy.

They broke a small piece off of the drivers side trim that goes under the windshield near the A pillar. It was brittle and I kind of expected something not to be perfect, it’s hard to ID what this trim piece actually is from online catalogs to replace it. Looks like it might be part of the larger trim piece that runs the length of the roof and down the windshield.

So, like many projects, 99% improvement, 1% created a new task..,

Also, definitely doing the zip tie mod! I already had this happen to me once when I was changing the battery. I removed the old battery but the new one was in the trunk….Doh!

What does a new windshield run?

$289 installed at Safelight. I thought that was quite fair and it made a ton of difference. Now I just have to figure out how to replace that trim or just leave it alone (it does snap back into place - I just had it pulled out to show it better. If I did it again I would probably have picked up the oem install pieces from Amayama just to replace everything perfectly with oem

I had expected it was going to be between 400-500$.

I would have guessed $400-500 as well. Almost nothing anymore related to car repairs has a 2 in the MSD.

Finally had the chance (albeit at night) to get some pictures of my car after getting her back from the body shop. I was rear-ended about a month ago, but luckily it was minor.

I've always wanted to try a roof spoiler on this car, but I never found one I really liked until I saw Daddy Fat Sacs' CF one earlier in this thread. While she was at the shop, I had it painted gloss black because I'm starting to shy away from CF parts (I tried wrapping the trunk spoiler, but it really dumbs down the curves, so I wasn't a big fan).

I can't thank Noel and the team at Collision Auto Repair for the amazing work and for getting my car back on the road!

Those TEs look great, changes the whole look of the car. Ultimate JDM wheel imo

When the very first Forza Motorsport video game came out, I slapped TEs on every. Single. Car.

Funny that you say that but it happens to be one of the things I dislike about the car. Not only is it a very common G/Z color it is very boring looking. I would prefer something more "vibrant" or black. In general I am not a fan of silver cars as well but the silver offered on the G is one of the better colors IMO.

As much as I dislike KAD it sure is an easy color to take care of!

Tried Adam’s wheel and tire cleaner (purple spray) for the first time, thought it worked really well to lift up the grime and brake dust. Non-acid formula so no issue with powdercoat

Then rolled through the local 1980s/1990s commercial park hellscape to dry-off, so snapped an obligatory garage pic

This piece (but on the passenger side) has been loose since day one, bought the car new in 2013. Just keep popping it in, maybe have to do it a few times a year. I’ve tried to play around with it, no clue what else to do to keep it fastened in-place.

Hey all, been away for a while but finally found the time to get all this junk out so I can have it installed tomorrow. Stance XR1 true coilovers, SPL rear camber/toe arms, and NISMO FUCAs. Unpictured I'll also be installing one of the small GKTech bolt on angle kits, some PBM adjustable spacers in the front (Z34 Sport Rays), and I have some Motul 5-40 with a NISMO filter to top it all off. Can't wait to post some photos once everything is sorted.

Our color palettes tend to change over the years. I would have never picked silver, but it was the only sport model RWD in my city when I purchased new. I was obsessed with Malbec Black, but the Platinum Silver has also become timeless and looks great with chrome, black and carbon fiber accents. My 12 years ago me would have never foreseen how well subtleties can evolve into a finished product that feels so entirely my own. When I was buying my car, there was also a 2010 6MT in your color with low miles. I wasn’t thrilled by the color as I thought it almost looked brown in certain light. I ended up buying the new car because the price difference was only 5-6k since the dealers are very limited on how much they could haggle CPO pricing, whereas they could below invoice on new pricing. My guess is if I would have ended up with that color, I would have taken off down a different, yet equally as satisfying path.
