Well, time will tell about that.
Being the most innocuous little project imaginable, figure I'd talk about it for months, take lots of high-resolution pictures, obsess over pointless details, etc... all long before actually doing anything.

I have my share of examples of *not* getting it right the first time. But thanks, Brad.

Easy removal. Hair dryer, fishing line, rub off the excess adhesive, claybar, cut-compound in a couple of increments... all gone. And the paint is clean as a whistle. No scratches, no ghosting. The trunk face is a solid 100%.
Regardless, I plan to let it sit however long it takes for Western NY to see temps in the 70's again, then put on the new emblem. From everything I've read, you really want temps over 65*F for this kind of thing. And since I don't have a heated garage, I'm just going to have to wait. Oh well.

You know, I've always been of the opinion that it looks awkward if you debadge the letters but retain the Fuji, for the simple reason that the Fuji is too high when it's the only thing to occupy that space. Now that I see this first hand... OMG, yes. It looks really dumb the way it is now.

Infiniti Skyline
It's been 65*F all afternoon. Fck it... I'm applying the emblem.
Right or wrong process? I have no idea. Seemed like I did this right. Of course, if letters start falling off in the next few weeks, then I'm back to Square One, LOL.
Anyway... pics. And I genuinely like this.

- Alcohol wipe and buff
- hair-dryer to heat up the surface a little
- mount the template
- eyeball placement
- unpeel and stick
- pressure on each letter for 30 seconds

Yeah, it really did. The bottom edge of the new emblem is *exactly* on the same line as the bottom edge of the old emblem. That was my biggest concern.
Horizontal placement, however... That was a compromise, because in reality the Fuji isn't perfectly centered.
So I had to split the difference between the various offsets; centered to the trunk vs. centered to Fuji. This is something I eyeballed, and nothing anyone can notice. I'm talking about a few millimeters.

It looks good, but my gearhead brain hurts because there is no such thing as an Infiniti Skyline. I might just do the Skyline badge higher up without the Fuji or maybe in addition to the 370GT badge.

IMO it would be more coherent if you include Nissan emblems or remove the Infiniti one like the V37 Skyline in Japan:

Leaving it as you see it. No plans for the right-side emblem.
