I just received a FedEx Tracking Number for the missing parts.
Skylines started to be co branded as Infiniti since '03 in the G35, its both an Infiniti and a Skyline, hence Infiniti Skyline or Nissan Skyline.
nissan's the one who branded the Skyline both an Infiniti and Nissan, it would technically be correct either combination you choose.

Parts don't show up until the day after I on my mechanic's schedule. So Monday morning I have to postpone the project. That sucks.
But yes, I'm glad the TheNismoShop (aka. West Covina Nissan) finally agreed to do the right thing. I wish this situation were handled with more grace and professionalism, but the important thing is closure.
The other day, I had a landscaper over to the house for some small project estimates. My garage was open, and his eyes popped seeing my car. "OMG! That's beautiful! I've never seen a Skyline before."

I just smiled and said thank you. Didn't see the point of a long explanation.

Is this just in Japan? What is the point of having both brands?
@Rochester, well the car is what it is
@4DRZ, the Skyline brand first went international with the G35. Every Skyline up to the R34 was sold specifically for the JDM only, but could be imported on an individual basis to countries allowing them in.
The G35 was when Nissan first decided to take the Skyline to International markets and sell them there directly themselves through their dealerships, JDM models were kept as Nissan Skyline and the international ones sold as Infiniti, which is Nissan's premium luxury brand. Instead of being pure racing like the R34, they focused the G35 aka Skyline for luxury sports instead.
It's not even about LHD or RHD, since UK spec Infiniti G37's are RHD as well, while US spec Infiniti G37's are LHD. I am guessing they wanted their cars to have a premium luxury image in the international markets since it was the first time the Skyline went international. In Japan everyone knew them as just the same old Skyline brand. Now Nissan is branding all Skylines as Infiniti, even in the JDM, ie Q50/Q60.

Weird. So to this day Skylines in Japan have always been Nissans, but the rest of the world the Skyline was sold as an Infiniti from the G35 on? Was the G35 and G37 only used in the U.S?
Yea the G35 and G37 are the first Skylines to be sold in an international market by Nissan.

The missing bearing and seal are in shipment... however I had to reschedule the project because they won't show up in time. So now I'm targeting April 26 for the gear swap.
Meh. One more week for something I've planned on for two years. Grr-r-r.

So I am guessing you spin the rears a bit as you seem to wear them out quicker? The last time I checked I think I only used up 2/32's in 6,000 miles and a handful of track days on my RE-71R's. However, I assume I could easily drop the hammer and get them down to the cords in a matter of minutes if I wanted my own smoke show.
?
?I almost always drive the car with the traction control on so no spinny for me.
And even on the rare occasion I do turn the traction control off I very seldom drive the car hard enough to spin the tires. I'm actually quite easy on the car, especially since the tranny can't really hold all the power. The only time I really use the power is entering the freeway. I do tend to drive the car pretty hard through the twisties though!
Glad they finally stepped up and shipped out the missing parts, but sorry to hear you had to rescheduled the install. Thinking it will all be worth the wait though once you get the new gears in!
