Benny, tire sizing takes a bit of crunching the numbers to get the whole picture. The sidewall series is the percentage of the width of the tread block vs. the height of the sidewall. A 40 series has a sidewall that's 40% of the tread width, a 35 series has a sidewall that's 35% of the treadwidth. So as you go wider in tire you have to go lower in sidewall % to keep diameter the same.
This calculator is handy when trying new setups, and yep, your rear tires are
.63" taller than your fronts, in that 225/40 245/40 set.
https://www.myg37.com/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php

The 245/40 275/35 set results in the back tire being 0.13" shorter and a 285/35 would be 0.14" taller.

Hi all, I've been reading a lot through this forum but can't find this specific rim offset for a 2011 g37s convertible. I'm trying to buy a set of SSR 19x9.5 rims all around with offset of +20 and tire size 245/40/19 and 275/35/19. I don't plan on lowering the car at all and wanted to know if this set up will sit flush with the body of the car? Thanks for any help.

I would run a staggered setup rather than 9.5s all around. The coupe has a wider rear fender bulge vs. the coupe so you can go pretty aggressive in back. The front has the same track as the coupe (or at least very close). I think I'd run a 9.5 front 10.5 or even an 11 in back.
Check cereal2k's thread here, this is w/ a 9+25 on 245s and a 10.5 +27 on 275s.

On a stock height vert I'd shoot for a 9.5 +30 on 245s and a 10.5 +30 on 275s or +35 on 285s. If you went to an 11" rear an offset of +40 on 285s would fit well.

Just want to know if 18x9's @ 35mm offset will fit an 07 X? I do have coilovers but I'd like the fitment to not need much adjusting.

Here's mine on 18x9.5 +38, yours would be 6mm in from mine on the wheel width, and out 3mm for the offset, for a net 3mm in from mine at the fender. Would be a nice fit on 245/45/18s or 255/40/18s, the X Sedan has the same fit at the fender as the RWD sedans.

I have 19x9.5 +35 on my XS sedan, it's pretty much a perfect fit even with minimal camber. (1-1.5 degrees) You should be good to go with those.

I'm currently running 19x8.5" +35mm offset on my G37 (non-sport) with Toyo Proxus Tires 245/40 R19 all around. I managed to plow into a curb and now I'm going to have to replace one of the tires and have someone clean up two of the wheels.

My question is this, would running a 255/40 R19 offer more protection from future curb related incidents, or is this just the part where I learn to be more aware of my surroundings and keep the 245s?

Also, tires are a year old and I've probably put 25k+ miles on them. Would you buy 4 new tires or just 1 replacement? (Let's not turn this into how bad of a driver I am) Thanks!

I'd buy at least a pair of tires, then get another pair when the others are worn, having one new tire and 3 with 25k miles isn't a great plan.

I'm to the point where I just avoid curbs at all costs, trying to get that perfect parking spot at the end against a curb isn't even on my menu anymore. And I always go a bit wider w/ my turns when there are curbs involved. Got to be real careful in restaurant drive thru's , bank ATMs, etc. If it means rolling down the window and poking your head out just to make sure you clear, then do it.

As far as the 255s offering better protection, they will if the tires have that protruding edge, but the protection is minimal, if you're closing in on curbs w/ 1/8" to spare you're eventually going to get damage.

FOund another wheel I'm interested in. Here are the specs:
20x8.5 / 9.5 ET20 / 25.

Are these still too aggressive for a 2011 RWD sedan? I dont want to do the whole stance thing anymore so I'm looking for aggressive fit within spec if that makes sense

I think that's doable. Should be a tight fit but I don't think you'll run into any issues. If you're not afraid of a little camber (1.5 degrees or so)

(For now) its stock height. But if 1.5 isn't prone to serious wear then I can deal with it.

1.5 isn't bad at all. I've been running up to 3 degrees in the back and I don't have any bad wear in the past year (10k miles).

So I'm looking at a set of rims (Varrstoen es2) They are 19x9.5/10.5 +12 offset.
Two questions:
1) Will this work fine on my 2012 g37xs coupe, running different measurements on front and rear ? Thanks
2) Is this an aggressive set up, I don't want a plain, straight factory look.
