If the tpms is not compatible with the car, nothing will work, including this procedure. The car is designed to only receive signals at a set frequency. When you use a sensor with different frequency, the car will never recognize the sensors.

I did this a couple weeks ago and it works. The thing I had trouble with was finding which pin to insert the copper wire into. It is the smaller opening of the two pins. Once I did that and had my tires set at the recommended pressures, I started learning mode by touching the wire to the plate towards the firewall where the steering shaft runs through and the light stayed blinking for several minutes. I had to drive for about 10 mins before the light turned off. Then it turned back on again due to the tire pressures but that was expected. I put in some air and off it went! Had I known this when I bought my winter wheels, I would have gotten TPMS for those too.

Please help. I bought new tpms for my M35, Orange Electronic SCA01B which is supposed to work with my model, and trying this, but I'm having problems. When I turn the car on the light blinks 60 times exactly then goes solid.

Now trying to program the tpms I can get it into the learning mode, but when I start driving after waiting about a min, in less than two min the light goes solid...does not turn off first and I dont hear a beep. I go fill up (turn car off and the wire is still in plug but not grounded so it shouldn't matter) and the light remains. If I get into learning mode and don't move, the light stays blinking for 10+ min.

I've tried 5 taps & 6 taps. I went into learning mode with the car in KOEO and with the engine on. I grounded to wipe error codes and removed battery.

I'm not 100% if my light is blinking "slow", so you tell me. The image is a link to my photobucket video. This is 4 min into the learning mode, I didn't move off yet.

and if the car is in fact not in learning mode because of how fast the light is blinking, what exactly is going on because it only blinks for this length of time after I follow these instructions.

Ground the tpms wire and count or record the flash pattern. Then we can see what code is store on there.

I wasnt sure about how long I should ground it for to get the codes, so the first link was with me just quickly grounding and releasing once the car starts.

The second is me holding the ground connected for nearly five minutes. It was still going through a blinking pattern. I don't know if it was just repeating. Or should I go back and continue to hold it grounded until the pattern stops?

So the error codes are that the system is not receiving any signal from any of the sensors.
There could be several reasons for this:
-Sensors were not programmed correctly
-BCM to receiver connection problem
-Receiver problem

I need more history of your problem to give you a more likely diagnosis. Was your TPMS working before and what made you switch to the orange tpms? How many and which sensors did you switch?

All original tpms were working before. I bought new wheels and just bought new tpms for all the wheels.

So maybe the sensors just werent programmed correctly. I would retry the procedure a few more times. Make sure you get into the programming mode. When the tpms light flashes more continuously in the same pattern for more than 2 minutes, it's pretty safe to assume it is in the learning mode. Then make sure your tire pressures are exactly as specified in the first. Remember that cold tire psi will be higher when warmed up. You might have to adjust your pressure after you start driving and redo the procedure.

Does the "point whatever" matter? Meaning 26.3 vs 26.8. Or does it have to be EXACTLY 26?

Also, once it's programmed, do I have to fill up the tires to get the monitor to reflect what the air pressure is, or will the tire pressure pop up once programed? Do I have to turn off the car once done while filling up the air?

Im not quite sure. On our G37s, we do not have a display of tire pressures.

I would try to be as close to 26 as possible.

First off, sorry for the long post but wanted to be detailed so that others knew what I did exactly.

So here is my experience after reading the whole thread and trying it out for two nights. I was able to successfully reset the tpms and make the light go away today. These are stock wheels with the tpms working prior. The reason for the tpms flashing was cause I did the video bypass but forgot to disconnect the battery first. I think it caused the tpms to unsync.

Now my issue was that the tpms blinks for 60 sec then a solid icon. Checked my fuses like what the FSM stated and they were good so I tried what OP posted. I had the tires down to specified pressure listed by the OP even though the FSM stated different (I had one of those cheap stick gauge). On the first night I guess I was not hitting a good ground since it would go solid after 60 blinks. I even tried a portable jumper's ground and that didn't work either. Well today, I was able to get tpms icon to stay blinking since I used the ground on the brake assembly (silver metal non painted). However, after I started the car, the icon would blink like 2 times then stay solid. I drove to the bank for an errand but the light never changed (stayed solid). I even tried filling the tires to proper pressue with no success. The blinking 60 to solid stopped happening and now I had just had a solid tpms everytime I went to the ON position. I turned off the car and started over again.

I released the tire pressures back to spec from the OP post. I then started the engine and tapped on the ground 5-6 times. The tpms icon started to blink....I waited for 2 minutes to see if it would go solid and it never did. So finally it was in learning mode. I then drove the car on city streets (no highway) at about 35-40 mph with some street lights while the tpms was still blinking. The light went out and I knew then it relearned. I then went on the freeway and the tpms icon came up solid since of the low tire pressue. I stopped by a gas station and filled the tires up to spec while the car was still running. I set all to 34 from what the gauge on the gas station's machine and when I checked there was no light. Turned off the car to get gas, and when I started it back up, no lights. I drove home and no lights ever appeared. When I got home I used my cheap stick gauge to make sure and it showed about 42 psi! I let air out and set it to 36psi with my stick gauge. The light still never came on for being over specs.

So quick summary for blinking tpms then solid issue:
1. Check all fuses (Use a DMM with continuity test, makes it easier)
2. Set tire pressure to specified amount provided by OP.
3. Take a paperclip and attach it to the connector making sure you put it in the tiny hole.
4. Start the car (engine running)
5. Within 10 secs, tap the paperclip 5-6 times on a metal ground (non painted surface)
6. Wait a little over a minute to make sure it's not the 60 blinks - solid sequence.
7. Once in learning mode, drive car on city street at 35-40 mph till tmps stops blinking and disappears. (it was like 5 minutes of driving, less than 4 miles)
8. Keep driving till you receive the solid tpms icon.
9. While car still running, set air to proper tire pressue (33-36psi) (note: it would probably work with the car turned off but I didn't want to take the chance).

Hope this helps others who are struggling with getting it to work. Thanks OP for the thread!
