That's pretty cool, but useful?

I think more placebo than anything else. But nothing wrong with that.

After installing those rear coil spring bushings, I finally went in for a re-alignment this morning. This time last year, my toe was good, and my rear camber was -2.0* and -2.1*.

When they hooked it up, it seems toe was off all around, and in a bad way. So now toe is spot-on for all four wheels... except my left rear is now at -2.7* camber. (The right is -1.5*) I'm good with anything -2.0 or there-abouts, but -2.7* is unacceptable. Not only that, it's very visible, too. The driver's side rear tire is very obviously tilted, particularly in comparison to the passenger side rear over a full degree less negative. (sigh)

God. Damn. It.

Yep. I'm leaning towards just the rears... less expensive, easy-ish install, and where the most glaring problem lies.

Personally, I would get both front and rear. The install of the front is quite easy as well, it is the adjustment that is a PITA. I think you and I may be similar to me in that I 'need' to have the alignment in my acceptable ranges. But, since the alignment has such an impact on how a car handles the acceptable ranges change per the situation that the car will be used in.

When you say it isn't a glaring problem - do you mean you mean to say that it isn't as much as a problem visually? I think having the adjustability for the alignment settings is a must, especially if or when you start noticing that your car's handling characteristics are compromised under turning, acceleration, and braking due to your alignment.

Visually. It's all visual. The only peace-of-mind I've got going on is knowing that the toe is perfect. But the rear looks f'd up now. Driver side is flush, but noticeably cantered inward. Passenger side is poked, but noticeably more straight-up.

I need (emotionally need, LOL) them to both be similar to one another. Given what I've seen of various camber settings on my car, I'm comfortable with -2.0 +/- a degree.

[edit] Just bought the SPC Rear kit.

It never ends
But yeah, -2.7 on your PSS will cost you more than that camber kit in pretty short time and having balanced alignment settings all around will be a much better setup for you.

There and back for my kid's soccer match, and I'm looking at the rear of the car now with actual regrets for getting the alignment today. So my toe is aligned... big freaking deal, because the mismatched camber looks so ridiculous to me now. I never used to care about this chit, and here I am embarrassed to take the car out of the garage.

Wow. My priorities are messed up.

SPC Rear Camber Arms

These showed up today. Man, that was quick.

Going to be installed next Tuesday at the Infiniti dealership. They said barely a one hour install, plus the $89 for a second alignment.

I suspect (?) I'll be able to specify the rear camber range that I want. Based on my experience with this car, my wheels, tires, etc. I'm thinking between -1.8 and -2.0 for both rear wheels.

Wow, only an hour install? Even with elongating the bolt holes?

We didn't discuss the details, but the SM talked to their Sr. Tech, and he said 1/2 hour per side, plus another alignment. The Tech is no kid, has been servicing Nissans/Infinitis for decades, and he been part of the local auto-cross community forever. In other words, I trust him... dealership status notwithstanding.

Honestly, the more times I experience service at this Infiniti dealership, the better and better I feel about them. They really try hard, and have been super fair to me. Heck, they even offered me a loaner for the job, but at two hours give or take, I'd just as soon wait for the car.

the install is super easy as long as you have all the tools.

took me about 2 hours to elongate the holes and install

I'm cancelling next week's install of these camber arms, and need to take a step back.

Seems the last coil-spring bushing/spacer idea only worked for a few weeks. It's been a month now, and the poly bushing has been completely stretched out of shape... which probably explains why my recent alignment specs were so whacked.

Errrrrr. And in the spirit of full disclosure, here's the mess as it looks right now:

Height adjustable coilovers.

I said it before. Put the $$ and time you're using chasing perfect ride height and invest in coilovers. You'll enjoy it for all the time you have the car.
