However, if I were to try that with the 5/8" bushing, it's a double-effort because they're already on the car. And either way, that kind of fine-tuned customization to the bushing would require a Dremel Tool (or similar device), which I don't have.

So I could purchase another pair of 5/8" bushings, and I could purchase a Dremel Tool, and I could experiment with this idea...

...or I could move forward with the 3/8" bushings.

Here you go John, and it's only $8

It sounded like he needed an actual dremel. Father's day is coming up

Well he did say Dremel (or something similar) so for $8 it's damn close, lol

Ideally, I'd like a cordless Dremel, but that can get pretty expensive when you go cordless and move up the model line. And yes, a Father's Day present would be a clever idea, but I'm not dropping any hints.

I think it will just have to wait for another day and another need. Not going to buy an $8 rotary tool. I strongly suspect if I did, then I'd end up with a rotary tool worth $8.

The corded version is going to have tons more power, and chances are you'll be near enough to an outlet that it won't matter.

No hints man, if I didn't drop some hints I'd probably end up with a red plaid sweater vest.

Or grab an extension cord. You know if you get a cordless Dremel you'll need moar power (because racecar or whatever you're working on).

I took a class in AR building a 1911. One of the students, not me this time, didn't listen to the instructions and purchased a cordless dremel. By the end of day 1 after being berated all day and failing miserably on his build he went and bought a new one. We still gave him the "that guy" award, don't be that guy.

OK, guys. OK. I get it. When the day comes that I buy myself a Dremel Tool, it will be corded. I promise.

On that note... my second rear coil-spring top-seat arrives today, and I'll be modding that to fit the 3/8" spacers. Which means I can reach out to my mechanic and get those bushings swapped. So much effort for such a small thing, but I'm already all-in.

Pardon me for asking the obvious which I know you probably have your reason but why not change it out yourself? Only need a floor jack.

Sucks that this has given you so much trouble John. I'm glad to hear it's finally coming to an end so you can go back to enjoying the results rather than constantly working out the details n problem solving. I know the feeling.

3/8" Poly Spring Bushing - Installed

Swung by the Mechanic's this morning and had the bushings and top-seats swapped out in the rear. As I learned last month, I need to give it a few days/miles to settle in, but already recognize that this was the right move. Even when looking at the fender/tire/wheel orientation from the side-view mirror as I'm driving, and I can see the difference in negative camber, where the rims poke less than they did with the 5/8" bushing. And although there's probably a 1/4" of settling coming over the next few days, the profile already looks better to my eye.

Very much the right move here. (big relieved sigh)

Pics and measurements floor-2-fender coming later this weekend.

Hood Latch Bolts

Ever look at the hood latch?

Really, there's nothing that doesn't look better when you use Titanium nuts & bolts.

Particularly these sculpted racing flange-bolts.
