3.5 Years in - 6 more years of planning
Been a while since I've bulleted out future mod plans. Here's what's on tap, as of today:
Spring 2021 - Used 2016 - 2018 Jaguar F-Type S Coupe 6MT
- July 2015 - RJM Clutch Pedal Assembly
- Nov 2015 - LatheWerks Shift **** in Copolymer (for winter)
- Apr 2016 - 4.083 Rear Gears
- Jun 2016 - TWM Short Shifter
- Spring 2017 - Takeda Long-tube Intake (replacing the R2C)
- Summer 2017 - Motordyne M370 Upper Intake Manifold
- Summer 2017 - UpRev Tune
- Spring 2018 - StopTech 2-piece Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads
- Spring 2018 - Painted Calipers
- Spring 2019 - Fortune Coilovers w/damper extensions
- Summer 2019 - Z1 Torque Mounts and ES Bushings
- 2020 - ???
Spring 2021 - Used 2016 - 2018 Jaguar F-Type S Coupe 6MT
EcuTek - EcuTek Release ProECU Nissan 370Z RaceROM Phase 2
I'd like to see your reasoning for the M370 over the Z1 or Synolimit manifolds.
FYI: Thank goodness you got a sport/LSD to help you get up your driveway

If you go over to the The370z.com Tuning forum, you'll see that the EcuTek tunes are making more power and are innovating (VVEL, launch control, flat foot shifting) more than UpRev.

I need to lurk on the 370 forums more.
Seem to remember a few months ago there was a member here who swapped out his M370 for the Z1 intake, just because he could and he wanted to experiment. On the dyno, he actually experienced a power loss in the swap.
That's a really good point. Honestly, I never thought about it like that, but you're right. If I come into the driveway too fast, I will scrape the front. But if I come into the driveway too slow, then I leave one rear corner hanging, and it's awkward. When that happens, it's the VLSD that gets me over the hump.

First off John. I haven't followed your thread for a while. That said, I'm totally impressed!
The amazing work you did on rear ride height really paid off & the car looks perfect! <IMHO> Having the rear slightly higher than the front is the proper way to go. Since in the event w/ rear passengers &/or 'stuff' in the trunk it'll be way lower.
An interesting vid. clip. A notable lifting w/ the RR wheel shows how stiff the Eibach RSB is. WOW!
BTW; Those weeds are unsightly & w/ your attention to detail I'm shocked you'd allow that.
It's all in the technique. A front lip might be 'dicey'. Reminiscent of the "TopGear" episode where they needed to use boards to get the 'supercars' out of the parking garage.

I've lived here now for 19 years, and have become pretty adept at navigating that rise from the road to the sidewalk. But you can imagine how much I freaked out at the idea of lowering my car last year. Fortunately, if I come in and out with a stupidly exaggerated approach, it's OK. I probably have a quarter inch to spare, and it helps if I drop out out slowly.
However, coming into the drivway I actually have to get some speed so that I don't stop the forward progress while one wheel is up in the air. I know that sounds silly... really, it's not as bad as it sounds. LOL
One thing's for sure: there's no front lip in my future.

Just a little while ago, it was early evening and I was driving my car down this fantastic road that runs along the side of Lake Ontario. I had just picked up an order of fried calamari for me and my daughter… this old Italian guy was waiting for me out back, having closed up a few minutes prior, so he simply gave them to me for the promise that I come back for dinner. (Score!) Anyway, I’m moving the car along the coastline, rowing through the gears with windows down and moonroof open, radio off, titanium shifter in hand. The sound of my Fast Intentions exhaust is like awesome sex to my ears, and the car was carving into the dips and turns with perfect precision. Just then I bank up and around a bend in the road to come face-to-face with the full moon floating over the horizon, unnaturally huge and in amazing detail… so surreal.
I swear, it felt like a perfect moment. A Miami Vice/In-the-air-tonight moment, but with fewer guns.
Man, I love this car.

Nice! Super interested in your review, but also in your install experience. I looked through the install guide and while it doesn't look necessarily hard, it does look like a fiddly PITA... Curious to hear your thoughts once you get it in.

Fortunately, one of my friends visiting that weekend is a mechanic, and he's not worried one bit. Plus, he drives a (supercharged) 2003 G35 Sedan 6MT, and is pretty interested in what comes of this. So while I expect to participate fully in the install, he's going to be calling the shots. And I suspect fiddling with the settings on the assembly is a tuning process that will occur throughout the Summer... not just that afternoon.
This will be my last mod for 2015... except for yet another shift **** before winter, this time in Copolymer. I really don't want to deal with having a Titanium shift **** when temperatures are below freezing. That was nuts. I literally kept a right-hand glove in the car, all the time, just for Winter.
Are you going to take your friends charged G35 for a spin?!! You should take a video and some pics plz John. I really want a TT or SC now. Not going to get one....just really want one.

They'll be driving down in my other friend's 2006 G35S Sedan. That particular G is in perfect condition, with simply gorgeous Lakeshore Slate and Stone Leather, as a fully loaded 2006 Sport Model.
All three of us met on Maxima.org years ago, and we each moved on to the Infiniti G. Sometimes, you actually can establish friendships on a car forum that extend into real life, and last over the years. Helps to be in driving distance, though. As for being in a different country... meh, Canada is only 80 miles away, even if it's still a total b1tch crossing the border.
you didn't strike me as the gun toting type Rochester
Great song though, it's on my driving playlist.
It's funny, usually within 3 years I'm starting to get bored with a car, but I'm still in love with the G. It's a special car, a high water mark for the Japanese sport sedan.

Hey friend,
You're probably going to get sick of me bothering you but I trust/value your opinions so that's what you get for being a well informed consumer lol. Wondering what your plans are to protect that beautiful exhaust system from these brutal WNY winters? Obviously I have a selfish reason for asking this lol.
