Never would have thought that finding a (non-round/ digital) oil pressure gauge would prove so challenging.

the center-dash gauge is OBD2 - so any OBD sensor. For our cars obviously not oil pressure. What you're seeing in the pics is WATER temp.

My oil pressure gauge is a discrete prosport 2 1/16 round deal that I'm putting on the a-pillar. Don't want to have to look down to see pressure.

Since I'm now using carplay in the G, I can't connect to an OBD dongle to show that data any more (Carplay and iOS OBD dongles both use Wifi so are mutually exclusive, apparently)

It's all compromises, all the way down LOL.

If interested, Eugene has a sensor that plugs into the existing pressure switch and can then be mapped into Ecutek ROM and be used to manage pressure at a more granular level. You can then map this into an Ecutek dashboard running on your phone.

Heck no!

With the new rules, I have no idea how to sell into the US.
I'll figure it out, but until then, I've decided to use the last year to develop a wireless oil pressure gauge and a "mini GTR gauges" for cars without navigation.
Watching your oil pressure takes away all the worry of low oil pressure due to failing oil gallery gaskets.
In fact, when I unplug the GTR gauges to data log the CAN bus, I feel anxious, as I don't know the oil pressure that moment. Silly, but true!

The oil pressure gauge above isn't an Apple watch. It is this nice display: https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/ESP32...uch-AMOLED-1.8
I will also be looking into getting them manufactured in the US and selling the firmware via a download.
BUT I need to make sure everything is done by the book with regards to tax & duties.

I'm also in the process of redesigning the GTR gauges hardware to be much smaller.
The v1 board is about 1" x 7" and the new one will be about 1" x 1".

Also, the GTR gauges have been running on my G37 for over 3 years and I've caught a few minor items and fixed them.
The firmware has proven to be reliable and not cause any other issues. After all, we are kind of doing things that the G/Z wasn't designed for.

Lastly, I need to apologize for dropping off forums and social media and not replying to messages / posts.
In the beginning of 2025, I started a new full time job, which left me with evening and weekends for devlopment work.

Anyways,
That's all for now.
Frank

Very happy to hear you're still engaged with your projects, Frank.

Having seen them in person, your GTR gauges in the main screen are amazing.

I'd be very interested in seeing what comes of your oil pressure project.

Same on the G37 and 370... The temperature gauges doesn't move between 70-115C / 158-239F
The GTR gauges show the actual temp and it does go up and down depending on outside temp and vehicle speed.

Thanks. Hoping to get 15mm spacers put on next week and then I will take a proper picture of the car with the new wheels.

I received my final piece of trim molding today to block out the trim and the darn thing was bent. Second time I’ve received this part bent. Ugh. Only time I’ve ever had a problem with Amayama and this came from their UAE site that does not pack things nearly as well as their Japan site. Hoping they make it right. Really want to wrap up this project.

Media blasted, black base coat, then color and clear as the final coat? Looks great. What is the name of the color you are using? Is it metallic (appears to be the case in the last pic)?

I'm comparing the oil temp from the digital gauge I installed with the OBD PID reading I am monitoring on my Ecutek dashboard and the two seem to track pretty closely to one another.

It's 1G3 Magnetic Gray Metallic. It's a Toyota color and just a generally good gray. I will say, due to the black base coat, it comes out a bit darker looking than if you were to use paint. I have my FX50 wheels painted the same color and they are a good shade lighter.

They look great on the white car. I like them because they are not black. The white car needs some color other than just white and black IMO. My emblems are painted the same color.

I pasted a satisfying movie a few posts up of them getting lowered into the chemical dunk tank for 2 hours - no blasting.

Mirror caps and trim will be black with OEM white spoiler going on soon. Could really use some nice, red calipers for some color.

Swapped my front midbass speakers from JL Audio to Hertz. And I hit 150K this weekend. I need to wipe off my gauge cluster asap!
