I brushed on chemical stripper to remove the powdercoat, cleaned it up with brake clean, wax and grease remover and then sprayed the yellow high heat caliper paint. Next I'm gonna use my mask i cut to spray the Akebono logo and then clear coat over the whole thing. Should turn out really nice and glossy.
i'm going to try another one without removing the powdercoat - i'll just scuff it up and see how it sprays. Removing it is a massive pain in the ***.

Appreciate you posting your trials. I just picked up a set myself so this is helpful.
Feeling like iCrap's project should be its own thread.
Make it happen, buddy. Drop a link here when you're ready.

Well they came in red.. but, I put it next to my car and it just didn't look right against blue slate. So I settled on yellow after looking at a bunch of pictures / asking on here / asking people for opinions.
Got two wheels/tires installed. Moved the rear oem wheels to the front. Fedex lost the other two tires so ill pretend to be a drifter for a couple days.
with the snow storm approaching and my oem front wheels having bald tires; I needed to get some tread on the fronts.
I ordered about $4500 worth of stuff today, probably bit off more than I can even chew at this point. I have a lot of work ahead of me to make some money back to actually finish this build. This weather is unbearable, DO NOT move north unless you have a nice garage!
