I saw your other posts on the new tires. Tread design looks VERY similar to the PSS
It really does. Clearly Continental is trying to carve market share out of the venerable PSS, by offering a virtually identical tire at a significant price drop. Comments and reviews on this tire are all excellent.
I've been away awhile.
Not much to report and other projects drawing my attention.
I humbly forfeited the driveway horsepower wars a couple months ago when my wife bought her new mustang. It's a GT Premium with a 6 speed. We drove up to Kent to pick it up. Saved about $5k at Bowen Scarff Ford over buying locally (if anyone is in the market...). It's a vast improvement technologically over the 2012 she had previously. Really fun car with some drive modes that actually do something.
Finally got around to installing my oem spoiler today (that I bought a few months ago). Vast improvement over that chrome eyesore.
I painted the trunk release button a satin black with some trim paint I had from restoring the bumper covers on my fox body. I've seen pictures of it left chrome and didn't like the rogue 'bling' button look. I just scuffed the button up with some 600 grit and sprayed two coats. Thinking it should hold up okay since I never use the button anyway.
Looks nice, considering doing the oem spoiler, how many new holes need to be drilled for the install?
5 new holes unfortunately. I think you only get to use 1 original hole. It comes with some really detailed templates though that you just tape on using different landmarks. It wasn't completely self explanatory for me. I had to lay them out and think about it to wrap my head around where everything was. Once I had it figured out it wasn't too bad. Just go slow, use a punch and then drill the pilot holes first like it says in the directions. The fit and alignment is truly perfect. Definitely one of the benefits of an oem part. Color looks to be dead on too.
I didn't drill the outermost 2 holes that locate outside the chrome finisher. Mine has held tight to the trunk for 6 years now. Didn't want to drill those just in case I ever needed to put the chrome piece back on (in case the spoiler cracked for instance).
Awesome, I appreciate the info. Will go for it since it seems I dont need the holes past the chrome inset. Thanks
Just be sure your new spoiler has a nice flush fit when you test fit against the trunk, if it requires some force to fit tight you might consider the outer holes. Luckily mine was very flush and the inner fasteners + the 3m tape is all it took There's been quite a few over here that have done it that way as well.
Installed my 3.69 diff and whiteline bushings. Took about 3 hours total. Wasn't too bad really. Outcome is definitely smoother around town and passing however I don't know if it really made an appreciable difference in 0-60 or quarter mile times. Ecutek to come next

Beautiful Mustang! That appears to be the same color as the GT350 that I had on order when they first came out. I much prefer that Magnetic Metallic Gray to the lighter pastel like Avalanche Gray that they also offer.
