my dream car
Gold and ruby encrusted Mercedes SLR 999 Red Gold

Oh well… so a Mercedes SLR 999 is too plain for taste, so it was given a makeover with gold and rubies. The Anliker McLaren has exhaust tips and rims coated with 24-carat gold, and the Anliker logos that are present at a number of places in the car are covered in gold as well. There’s plenty of gold right there, in that car; but apparently, that didn’t quite hit the bling-meter to the ceiling, so they added a whole load of rubies, precisely, 500 of them.
Performance enhancements come with a new front splitter, a rear spoiler, a new diffuser and engine tuning. Power output of the engine goes up to 999hp, and the top speed goes up 9mph to 217mph. All that bling comes for a whopping $4.3 million. 500 LEDs have gone into the bodywork to enhance visibility, well, you don’t want to get a single scratch on that thing… ever.

I could buy 25+ fully loaded G37s for the cost of this car. Would I want one? Hell no. Do I give a flying rat's **** that these people/this person wasted his/her/their money on it? Not at all. If someone wants to bedazzle a near $100K Mercedes with 7 figures worth of Swarovski crystals, more power to them. I could only wish I had such funding.
Point being, there is always someone out there with the monies to do whatever to whichever vehicle they choose. As with the basic decision of which car they bought, the choice in modifications done to it is a completely individual one. Will I always like what someone has done to a specific vehicle? No, of course not. This is why its called an "opinion" (something everyone has). That doesn't mean, however, that I have to rant and rave about what someone else decided to spend their money on. That is being childish... and is something I grew out of after high school.
In a nut shell, it is completely retarded to impose my own personal feelings upon what someone else does in regards to their car. Just as much so as imposing my own personal feelings on what type of car someone else owns/drives, what music they listen to, or what style/brand of clothing they wear. There is no legitimate rhyme or reason to it.
Furthermore, I find it more humorous then anything that you are trying so hard to prove your point by going out of the way to name drop. "Grown up cars"... "I've owned [input expensive import here]"... "Im going to law school"... "I'm 29"... honestly, what does any of this even have to do with your ultimate point in regards to this post? Other then trying to create some deliniation, showing why you are "better" than the people who you are directing this unwarranted anger towards, there is none. Again, it is rather childish.
If you truly are studying to become a lawyer, I highly suggest concentrating on your logic and formation of arguments. It is obvious that you are lacking in both of these departments, as well as in the area of maturity.
Speaking of maturity, I feel the need (for some reason) to bring light to the fact that I also own a Bentley, Ferrari, G5, and that I am moonlighting as an astronaut while I finish up med school.

You should notice that my opinion/argument was well formed: I stated my feelings, gave examples of the negatives, gave examples of a couple positives I saw, then gave an explanation, in closing, for the reasoning that I had!! I thought that was well played... I also invited the criticism! You should have read my OP more closely.
Let me tell you that posting pictures of the crystal car showed me your brilliant mind as well as your maturity. Lets take a outlandish exception to all things reasonable and use it to explain why you think I am wrong, that is remarkable my friend! I wasn't on here saying anything about money spent, I also wasn't mentioning my past cars, or the fact of me being educated to put me over anybody on here, I was giving you a slight back-drop to who I am and possibly why I am thinking like this.
Oh and if completely retarded to impose your thoughts or opinions on what people do to thier cars, why would you comment on mods or anything on here?

Here's another example, in 98 when I was into the import scene and all that bs, I owned many honda's. The styled body kits and all that stuff was excepted with this brand. But if you looked over at the BMW M3's owners, the Toyota TT Supra owners or the RX7 TT owners, none of those guys would put a retarded wing, kit, horrible wheels or a paint job on any of those cars, which at the time were very close in price camparison to our G's. (I know you guys on here are going to start an argument about these cars I mentioned, but I mentioned them for price similarity alone, and nothing else.)

You seem to be getting a bit upset on the way I was posting. That was not my intent. Certainly, you did not see the humor in my last post and that’s unfortunate.
But to answer your question: I fully understand that this forum is dominated by younger owners who enjoy modding their cars. But in a sense of offering a diverse opinion and a different point of view from the mainstream here, I believe that I have something to contribute and that such views enrich the site as a whole. If you are closed to such minority opinions, then just ignore my posts. I will not be offended.

Wow, a lot of you guys are REALLY bashing the OP when he is, for the most part, giving his opinion without flaming anybody. A lot of you are using arguments that really don't have anything to do with his actual point, kinda like arguing with a woman (hopefully my old lady does NOT see this, if you do, I'm just kidding honey
.)
From what I gather, the younger crowd on this forum tends to not like the OP's opinion, and the older crowd on here tends to agree. On AVERAGE, younger people are more easily influenced and more likely to do something to their car that they think OTHER people will like just to look cooler, even if it is more "ricerish". Typically the older crowd does not give a **** what anybody else thinks.

I saw this unfold with the Honda and Acura scene in early 00, I was just stating that this is what seemed to be happening (IMO) with the infiniti's now...I also witnessed it, in some part, with my Z from 03-07. The whole "drift" craze was just hitting, i guess it all just comes and goes with the times.
I can tell by some of the members comments on here just how old they are, its painfully obvious! Most of the other responses on here, as stated above, had nothing to do with the OP, and some responses were well put. Thanks for the thoughts..
Im just reading through these pages now to see what other ignorant comment I can respond to......
