Just a thought...input appreciated
Lamborghini was bought by Audi AG, who had gained interest in the Italian company after being one of several major manufacturers approached as possible technical suppliers for major components for future Lamborghini models. After a complex series of transactions, Audi AG became the sole owner of Automobili Lamborghini.
The Audi S8 Quattro - the sports model of the German car manufacturers’ limousine-class executive car - is to receive a 10-cylinder engine based on the powerhouse found in the Lamborghine Gallardo.
The V10 cylinder was chosen over a comparable 12-cylinder unit because it is less heavy - only 220 Kg. A total of 450 horsepower rockets the 2000 kg vehicle to 62 mph in only 5.1 seconds. One for execs in a rush, in other words.
With enough power to have some real fun, the 2008 S6 fills the Audi mid-size performance slot. That 435-hp, 5.2-liter V-10 from Lamborghini lays out a consistently high torque plateau throughout the rpm spectrum. All this performance is mediated through a 6-speed automatic with overdrive while the essence of the car is unchanged for 2008.

Really, did you think about what you just wrote? Why is there even an Infiniti brand? Because Nissan wanted Americans, who are obsessed with labels and names, to have a higher luxury Nissan car. Yes its a Nissan but IMO if your are spending upwards of 40k on a car, even upwards of 30k in some instances, then it should be thought of as a luxury car.
Everything from the way your treated at a dealership during an oil change, to the extra options your G has constitutes it being classified as a luxury car.
I believe its listed as a Luxury Sports Coupe, am I right?

DOH!! OK got schooled on that one. I was not aware that they were currently using the same engine, thought that was still way down the line. Plus you said VW and Lambo not Audi and Lambo that is a stretch either way. I mean in Japan our car is almost exactly the same with a few minor exceptions including Nissan badges. I dont see too many Lambos with VW badges on them.
I really was kidding about it being a Nissan because that is what all the haters love to say but $30-$40K is not that much money for a car.

This is turning into a thread of a bunch of misunderstood posts. When posting sarcasm there needs to be a rule to preface and conclude the statement with some smilies or something LOL!
Oh yes, I get the full treatment at my Infiniti dealer in Van Nuys—Nice waiting room with free coffee, donuts, morning paper, and a car wash afterward. They also do a full inspection even when I’m in just in for an oil change. I never received any of these things when I owned Nissans.
Ummmm... not really. The fit/finish and quality of materials are higher on Infiniti models VS other USDM/North American Nissan models. Your point only makes the rest of this moot if you actually live in Japan. That is sort of like saying an Accord has the same overall quality as a RL because Honda makes both of them.
