Who has a Stillen G37 Supercharger? Numbers, pics, vids!
Took half the kit off. No signs of anything being loose or damaged. Might have the engine completely out tomorrow night for inspection. If anyone has stillen gen 3 intakes or knows someone who does, let me know...Im going to need them here shortly.
Wow, I'm really sorry to see that. It never feels good to pop a motor. And I realize it's hard to track down cause after the fact, but do you have any idea if it was bad gas, fuel pump/injector, tune, just a general glitch in the electrical system, etc? Do these cars have inline fuel filters? Was it clogged? Something happen with the VVTL that gave you crazy timing? Any thoughts?
Wow...that rod litterally punched through the oil pan.
I'm not an expert in this area, but I've only seen rods get thrown (quickly at least) from over revving. This is definitely something new to me for this motor. The few motors I've seen blown are usually ring landings breaking.

^ Knocking as in, broken parts rattling around in the motor? Or Knocking as in detonation while the motor was still running 'fine'? If it was the latter, then the tune (detonation) is what broke the rod, and then piston velocity (even at idle) is what threw it through the block.
Sorry for prying, I'm just very seriously considering going FI, and want to get all the info out on the table as far as what I'm getting myself into. I have experience with superchargers on other NA cars, but the boost was always kept under 5-7psi. Tons of experience with larger turbos on factory turbo'd cars, but that doesn't apply here. Thanks for your insight!

Not prying at all, It was Knock, not broken parts, But rod knock, An the tune needs to be 100% for sure, Probably one of the reasons I haven't been back to them for a NA tune :/.
I was running 12 PSI on the Stillen kit, I think at the 8-9 PSI (Stock) version and a great tuner you should be all set.

I hope to see those numbers. Installing my kit wednesday.
Got the kit plus pulley upgrade and oil cooler.
Current mods: swift springs, MRR GT5 wheels, Motordyne catback exhaust, 35/5 front/rear tint, custom headlights (gunmetal painted housings and plasma LED angel rings).
I'm wondering how the exhaust will sound with the s/c cuz nobody has my exhaust with the stillen kit (to my knowledge). At least not on myg. I'll be running 8 psi (the out of the box tune). nice numbers man. That's really solid.
