Who has a Stillen G37 Supercharger? Numbers, pics, vids!
Please post to benefit owners if you have the Stillen G37 kit.
This is NOT an argument over whether to get the Stillen kit or not. Take that elsewhere. It IS a discussion BY CURRENT STILLEN OWNERS of your experiences in order to help other STILLEN owners. Specifically:

Nice, any issues?

?? Your car? Or car your buying?? Hope there is a Valve body upgrade included in that??

Yes, my "street" car.
Everything seems technically strong. Both coolers seem to keep it cool enough. I would like to get transmisison and oil temp guages. I have a boost guage, but like all of them on the market it rediculously goes up to 30 lbs. Silly, when it only produces 8 lbs boost. I am envisioning a digital setup of three guages, in a custom panel, in the ashtray area. What could be better? - The off-boost transistion is way too abrupt sometimes. Concerned here about shock. I don't how I'd change this yet, but will look into it. - Traction is a problem. It'll spin tires in at least 3 gears. You can see why the GT-R has AWD. An X would be interesting here, but that open diff up front might be less than optimal. I have some fat 255s on the stock "S" 18s in the rear, they provide a degree of straight-line "windup". Clearly 19s would have less straight-line traction with their thinner and harder sidewalls. I don't know what I'm going to do about this yet, but it does need more rubber on the road. - The ARK exhaust works great and undoubtedly adds more power... however, it is a bit too loud for some neighbors. Not in sharp spikes, but in deep booming. And given that the tranny want to shift to higher gears for mileage in street driving, it seems to spend a lot of time around 2000 RPM where wit has a drone. This is not a problem on the highway at 60 or 70 or 80 where the car is very good for long trips. - Shifting is very sharp, sometimes abrupt. Not like stock. Probably a result of the higher line pressure. No valve body replacement that I know of (who makes that?). What's right? - Mileage can be great, especially for this power. - The car is nearly as docile as stock when driven normally. Conclusion: Stillen did a great job here in SC sizing and tuning. Be sure to add coolers and suspension to match! We've gotta have more owners on this board... where are they? |
Looks great. That's the older kit, too? Fantastic numbers.
I'd love to hear of even one supercharger 1/4mile drag time. Stillen or otherwise. There's a fellow who had a very successful install of a Stillen SC here. He'll chime in soon. :) Coop |

I'll tell you that the driving experience with the Stillen SC is fabulous, although IMHO the stock G chassis is too softly tuned for all this power.
The FM platform has the right architecture for sure (except it ought to have camber adjustment capability), it can handle much more power, but in G form it requires much better spring/shock/sway bar tuning. Even the IPL is way too soft for the power it has stock, much less with a Stillen SC. I started this thread to get other owners experiences with the Stillen SC, but so far the response of other owners has been zero. |
I used to be a STILLEN S/C owner. Does that count lol

I wanna know what issues. PM me if you dont wanna say it on board

I was an early adopter for their kit and since day one I had some problems. We thought its always the tune was the problem then later found out that one of the injectors was the issue and that was after the kit was removed. *I'm sure my case is an isolated one so pls don't be afraid of getting their kit. It's pretty well built and makes good amount of power with a custom tune.*
Here's a crappy pic of my camp 2.* http://i40.tinypic.com/2r5q7br.jpg |
