My G37S coupe rear sway bar from eBay arrived today, so I will sand, prime and paint that myself after work. And I got my Z1 diff and transfer case drain and fill kits today.
Still need to install the window chrome blackout trim and get the grill, spoiler and emblems painted. The grill, spoiler and emblems will push me into next week for getting this project done…
I hear that. The inside barrels of my duckfeet is a lost cause.
Sure looks like you did a great job.
Maybe you should start a build thread?
Haha. Build thread = more $$$ spent and I am coming up on the end of phase I spend right now 😁. Need to reload for the big brake kit…a nice set of red calipers will look lovely under those new wheels.
Wait, somehow I just agreed to spending more money…🤦♂️
New rear stay(painted black previously) and G coupe sway bar (painted red tonight) trying to dry for install tomorrow with garage heater on a rainy night. Won’t be perfect, but much better than currently. Sorry for the lousy pics- poor lighting.
Sorry I'm a bit late to the discussion but the Stillen catback doesn't provide the best power gains. I believe the sizing on the pipe is pretty small, like perhaps it starts at 2.25" and tapers down at the midpipe or something, but I don't have the time to give you a proper link to the info. It does sound good though if that's what you're after!
We went with a gloss clearcoat. Contemplated satin, but was kind of splitting hairs at that point. I love that the whole wheel is powder coated - makes keeping them clean on the inside a lot easier.
Wheels look great! Now you need to decide on a caliper color :-)
Had my Chrome Duckfeet off over the weekend to paint the calipers, so I spent time on the barrels of the wheels.
The wheels look insane when the barrels are polished up and clean, but its completely impractical to keep them maintained at this level.

So I took a picture to remember.
Looks amazing and the gold calipers are always spot on. Back in 2004 when I bought my coupe I could’ve gone for the 04 or 05 at the time and absolutely nothing about the 05 swayed me for a second from getting those gold Brembos.
Im going to go with the Z1 BB kit because the value of that offering is too good to pass up. You can choose red, black or yellow calipers. Most likely I will go with red calipers - black is going to make the car too dark and yellow might be way too bright, although it did cross my mind…

Those gold Brembos on the 1st gen G coupe were iconic. I had a 2004.5 Sport model sedan, but it had the standard brakes. Car still stopped on a dime as that 1st gen design felt lighter than our model. Our models however are better in just about every other aspect. Feels a lot more refined.
That bright yellow Z1 offers isn’t my cup of tea, but my caliper guy showed me a pic of a “muted” metallic yellow that looked really good.
A long time ago a fellow forumite with a 3d printer (sorry I don't recall name off the top of my head, you know who you are LOL) and I were working on an adapter piece that fits where the clock does, and holds a round OBD2 gauge.
Still need to do some fine fitting to get it in there, and sand/paint the plastic to match the other controls. No pictures unfortunately (I do have some, but they're on my tuning laptop at home).
Meh, it is creative but not my cup of tea. Looks severely out of place. Perhaps if the gauge was actually small enough to fit the clock opening and sit flush, but, regardless, I'm not giving up the clock for no man's money. Or mod. Just my 10¢.

Agree. The center cluster with the clock adds alot of character. That's one reason why those aftermarket Tesla displays for our cars don't look quite right to me, The clock, aftermarket aluminum ***** combined with the Washi trim are harmonious.
