I think you meant to say "Washi," not wasabi, lol. There are "Washi," "Shodo," and "Obi Silk." I swapped to the Obi Silk and still love it.
I am just tired of all these flat panels... between the center console and now the gauge cluster, way too many additional distractions for already oblivious drivers. Digital is ok, to a degree, but I'm old so analog will always be rewarding.

On my 2010 g37x sedan I installed a new map sensor, new air filters and cabin filter. It was throwing the code when I bout it a few months ago and finally got the part it's driving SO much better now that it's fixed. I tried cleaning the sensor as first but code came back up after some miles so had to go with the replacement route.
Parts land either tomorrow or Wednesday to replace my gallery gaskets and water pump!

MAF sensor??
I also replaced my cabin filter and dropped in a new battery (AGM from Costco), did the window reset, etc. Definitely needed the new cabin filter - smells better already. I’ll eventually do the HVAC clean out service through my Nissan dealer - it is reasonable cost and for whatever reason their scent is the best out there. Car feels so much cleaner after.
And dropped her off for the last phase I tasks tomorrow: trans, diff and transfer fluid changes with Z1 kits, Coupe S rear sway bar, bushings, links, replace rusted rear stay bar, verify all drains are clear, replace the coolant connectors and fully tighten the Stillen exhaust (they left it a little loose since they knew they were going to drop it for the stay and sway bars).
Phase II will be a full polish and ceramic coat.
Phase III will be brakes. I ordered the new baffle plates from Amayama today to start collecting the pieces. Will probably do the wheel hubs at the same time to knock everything out at once. Will probably just do the NVA hubs to save a little cash unless someone tells me the NVA are not up to the task.

Thanks for the correction. I must have had sushi on the brain. What does the obi silk finish look like?

Not including the wood trims, there were three (3) aluminum-type trim styles: 2008-09 models had "Washi" (brushed aluminum):
(sample image from eBay seller hence their logo)
2010-13 had "Shodo" (what I call dull gray):
and (my personal favourite) the "Obi Silk" (silver w/ swirls) which was originally for the 'Verts and the IPL but it seems there is some overlap:
I swapped from "Washi" to the "Obi Silk" and NEVER looked back...
A couple of weeks ago my AC starting blowing cool air instead of cold air. Took it to my mechanic and the charge port o-rings were failing which caused the freon leak. They replaced the o-rings and recharged the system and now I'm ice cold again! Glad to get this sorted out before it starts to get real hot out.

I'll be damned. Had no idea that there were 3 options that looked similar to one another. At this point, I am second guessing which one I have? Would this be listed on the window sticker?

Seems that these cars are getting up there in age, so I'm always interested in these types of age related failures so I can keep tabs and plan ahead. The blower fan tends to get a little grumpy after the 10 year mark and make noise as well (some worse than others), but it's an easy fix (oem part is a little pricey).
Also, has anyone tried to deodorize and clean the intake to the AC themselves? I took mine to the dealer to have this done many years ago, but am wondering if its DIY. I recall that whatever it is that the dealer uses smells amazing.
Found out today that a coworker has a 350Z sitting in a barn.
Might have an in to a track car again...
Low miles and clean? Or you discovered a drift car on its last legs? Those older Zs are becoming iconic but hard to find unmolested. Manual or automatic?

If I were to guess I'd say you have the Shodo based on the grayish tint. The other two are brighter and "pop" more.

I have not had to do it for my infiniti, but I did for a Tahoe that we bought used that smelled like they had a dog. It seemed to get most of the smell out.

From a 47-year old paralegal that was a bit of a wild child when younger. Bought it new, so other than age-related issues probably 100% stock. Stick though. Not sure if DE or VQ engine.
Think it's off the table though - apparently her kid wanted it terribly badly when he was approaching 16 and she said no as it was a little dangerous for a 1st car (which I'd concur with, knowing him). So... boyo went and got a job and worked and then bought his own. So they both have one. I can't take that away from her - I'm encouraging her to go driving WITH him with their cars to something like a car show or similar.

Yes, my Nissan dealer’s HVAC clean smells great! Had our Lexus done at the Lexus dealer and the smell was nowhere near as good. Would take the Lexus to Nissan if I did it again. So disappointed.
