It is nicely balanced which I really enjoy. Now that I'm using my G35 coupe wheels on the G37 instead of my S14,I need to find something for my S14 to ride on in the spring.
Did an oil change on Sunday. I was a couple days over my preset limit but had to find the time. Had to show off my Z1 fanboying...in all honesty the thread in funnel is a game changer. No more holding a funnel and the oil, just drop the quart and open the next one. Well worth the $15 or so. Also went with the Z1 magnetic oil drain plug because "hey, why not?"
This also gave me a chance to see the work that my TBW undertray has been doing for a few years. A little rough but I'm sure glad I have it in place for protection.
Z1 merch
This funnel was awesome and makes life so easy.
Z1 drain plug and Nissan oversized filter.
TBW undertray taking the hits.

Today I took the summer wheels/tires off and put on the all season wheels/tires. We really don't need full on snow tires in middle TN. And yes my summer wheels are G35 coupe wheels and the cold season wheels are also G35 coupe wheels. Life works out that way.
I think it has about 2-3 millimeters of clearance from the caliper hardware to the barrel of the wheel.
Love those G35 RAYS, I had them for a bit and were a great wheel that bolts right on with Akebonos. Nissan did a good job with G35/350Z wheels at the time.
One of my headlight bulbs went out so That was my most recent project. I went through the wheel wells after taking the front wheels off. I watched a few youtube vids and it was fairly straightforward. It took longer to jack up the car and take the wheel off then to swap out the bulbs. I went with hella 4300k @ rock auto for like $25.00 each and they work great.
I also just hit 138,000 miles on the G this morning. Still love this car 10+ years later......
You can just turn the wheel all the way in and you should have enough space to reach in and change the bulb without jacking the car up or taking the wheel off.

I did try that but because my headlights are aftermarket you have to get a screwdriver back there to remove the access panel for the bulb. The oem one just clicks into place.
Any thoughts on how to remove that ugly sticker residue left when you replace tires and/or get a rotate and balance? I had 10 years of this accumulated on my stock sport wheels and struggled to find something that would easily remove w/o damaging the wheel finish. The chromed versions are pristine now, but I will likely need tires next year and suspect I will be back in the same boat. I tried to pay the guys at discount tire to do it, but they looked at me like I was trying to convince them to change religion. Difficult task with the wheels on the car and removing each wheel to scrape old adhesive off seems to exceed even my OCD threshold.
Side note, whenever I see those blue calipers of yours I feel inspired again to paint mine!

But doesn't it scar the paint? I used some once to clean the attachment points for the rear trunk lifts/shocks and some dripped on a small spot in the drainage path and it completely marred the finish (discolored).
Honestly I didn't give enough effort to remove the old residue. It was about 40° when I was changing the wheels the other week. I would try some goo gone or brake cleaner. It messes with my OCD as well I was just in a time crunch this time.
As far as the brakes I'm glad they inspire you. If you go the custom powder coat route I think you'll be satisfied with the results. I enjoy that it give it just a little different touch. It has me debating doing the same to my S14 after the new year.

Just used a can to clean some wheels I was repainting, didn't do any damage (I was hoping it would lol). I guess go on a wheel by wheel basis, and try a test spot somewhere not noticeable. Different finishes would react differently I suppose.
The wheels in question. Need to figure out what to do with them now lol.
