What did you do to your Sedan today?
Trying to figure out why this isn't a DIY.
From a 47-year old paralegal that was a bit of a wild child when younger. Bought it new, so other than age-related issues probably 100% stock. Stick though. Not sure if DE or VQ engine.
Think it's off the table though - apparently her kid wanted it terribly badly when he was approaching 16 and she said no as it was a little dangerous for a 1st car (which I'd concur with, knowing him). So... boyo went and got a job and worked and then bought his own. So they both have one. I can't take that away from her - I'm encouraging her to go driving WITH him with their cars to something like a car show or similar.

Why not offer to buy the son a proper 16 year old car and trade for the Z? The Z will not be cheap to insure like say a 10 year old corolla, crv, civic, etc.
Yesterday I did the dance again with my Vossens and Duckfeet. Remove the snows, remove the 15mm spacer adapters, clean the rotors and calipers, install the Vossens (with hub rings and a 3mm spacer up front). This time I had one of my girls (the stronger one, LOL) roll the summer setup up from the basement, and the winter wheels back down. And while I'm very grateful for the help, the whole thing gave me back aches anyway... jacking the car up one corner at a time, using the torque wrench, lifting the wheels on to the hubs, etc.
It was a long afternoon. And goddamit, at 61 I'm getting too old for this chit.
On the upside... getting the HP summers back on the car really transforms the ride. Very happy about that. Add seeing my Vossens back on the car, being able to better see the custom calipers and two-piece rotors, that's all very rewarding too. Winter hung on right through to mid-April this year, so I'm eager for Spring.

I am not trying to insert myself in a parenting situation that isn't my kid (she's a friend, but not such that we trade parenting advice) and therefore not my monkey, not my circus. So... if she decides to sell hers she knows I'm interested. If not... there are plenty others. Just got to find that right point of cheap v ragged out (think the hot/crazy scale LOL)
I still need to check the one on a used lot near me and see if A. it's a DE and B. if it's stick.

So for the time being I'm sticking with the 18" all seasons and the extra inch or so of sidewall. BUT I may just say screw it and put the summer wheels on, because I also miss seeing my custom calipers.
For the first time in like 10 years, I didn't bother putting my winters on. Didnt really have anywhere to drive and it served as an excuse not to go to Buffalo for work stuff. But when really needed a car, mostly borrowed dad's qx50. Getting back into the G 2 weeks ago made me realize how much I missed my tractor lol.
we ain't getting younger!DIY motivation is money savings for me but definitely seems more like a chore these days than fun hah
Glad it isnt just me. I enjoy DIY as a sort of therapy, but lately it is becoming harder and harder to find the time or energy for larger projects. One of my halos died in my headlights and I really dont feel like taking 3 vacation days to rebuild.
Been hitting the gym since the 90s, running and sauna. No processed foods for 10 years now.
Takes alot longer to recover these days and my sleep cycles suck, but I would be a wreck at my age without this habit I am beholden to....
Shoulders still ache for days after laying on the ground changing the oil in the cars. Getting old sucks.
