What did you do to your Sedan today?
Picked up a new set of winters today. Thought I'd get through this winter but after 6 seasons my current winters were useless. Got some X-Ice 3's on sale. Now that I've put money into a new set of tires it should be easier to justify keeping the car longer as I'd been thinking about getting rid of it this summer.
3 years ago or so, I had a local shop give me a quote for painting the calipers. High-temp paint of my choice, not powdercoat, and done on-the-car, by masking the hell out of everything. It's a reputable shop, and they do high-end cars (Astons, Lambos, etc.), but still I was thinking at the time I'd prefer if the calipers were powdercoated while off-the-car. Anyway, they wanted $600 for the whole job, 90% of which is probably prep work. That felt a little high (I was thinking $400), and I never pursued it again.
The overall cost isn't so much the problem, it's the logistics of the project. I haven't got that figured out.
IIRC, it was these guys here: http://titanmotorworks.com/

So i think i screwed up one of my calipers. I used acetone to clean up some overspray on one and it made the finish kinda dull and soft. Dunno what to do now.... maybe clearcoat over it?
Just installed an OEM mirror with a compass in my G37x. Easy install, took less than 5 minutes, direct plug and play. Got one of the used ones on Ebay for $35. The mirror came from a G25.
The Nav models do not get a compass, and I missed the compass in my old 07 g35x before it was totaled.

That's the wheel I originally wanted but I decided to go more of a street car style build so the wheel weight wasn't top of my list anymore. Got some big ol wheels now but they are light for the size at least.
I was also stuck in the cross roads with my car. I was debating to drop the car on coilovers and get 19" wheels with a polished/mirror lip. But that also involved spending $500 in alignment components to address camber and rear toe. That's $3k minimum invested there using cheap coilovers and wheels. More like $4k with quality parts.
I ultimately decided I wanted to make it more fun to drive. I used to own a lowered 2008 Acura TL. Been there and know what it's like to drive on unfamiliar roads. Looks good to be lowered and nice wheels, but you really have to be cautious while driving.
I go to Mexico every other weekend so it only makes sense to go faster.
Just ordered ISR resonated test pipes to replace my fast-intentions high flow cats. Combined with the admin tune it should spit some fire. 3" intakes are being shipped end of this week. Hoping to go back for another dyno Feb 23 for after results.
Dropping 8 pounds per wheel, while increasing the width 1/2"... not too shabby, qmantran.
How about the tires? Different make/model tires all weigh differently, too. One of the benefits of the Michelin sport tire was that it was relatively lightweight.
I personally opted for the Z1 2 piece rotors to make up for the weight of the larger wheels. 8-10 lbs per corner, that way I can still run some big wheels and fat tires without having to also break the bank for the light weight wheel premium.
I haven't ordered tires yet either, but even if they weigh a lot the price on the Nitto NT555 G2's is hard to beat. Anyone else have recommendations for alternatives but in a wide range of sizes, that won't break the bank? Sizes I'm looking for are 265/35/20 and 315/30/20.

That's what I always thought about the duckfeet... the 18x7.5" are 24 pounts, and the 18x8.5" are 25 pounds.

I will be transferring over my current 245/45-18 continental dws06 tires that still have 5/32nds tread left. TireRack says that tire is 25lbs new.
once they wear down I plan to get 275/40-18 general g-max a/s for the rears. Those say 26lbs new.
tomorrow I will be weighing the duck feet with dws06 mounted, duck feet alone and tire alone.
Give it a few days or bake it for a few hours and maybe drive off the acetone. Not too hot, you don't want to damage the piston seals.
Should I do orange, yellow, bronze? Can't decide...
what are you doing for lines pads and rotors?
today i test fit a 10mm spacer
