Lifted my X sedan off the ground today for two projects. One went great one went very poorly:
1. The good. Installed the Z Speed engine under shield. The Plastic one was torn and warped. Very happy with the quality and functionality of the part. Oil changes should be much easier and cleaner, and the part fit right into place. Very high quality product.
2. The bad. Ordered a 370z rear sway bar on ebay for a great price. Figured it would be an easy install. Not so much. Stripped and rounded the bolts on the exhaust clamps. Even after soaking them in PB Blaster (should have used a 6 point socket instead of a 12 point). Then, hoping I may be able to swap them out without removing the exhaust (unlikely) I tried to loosen the nut on the end link with a breaker bar and the cheap 14mm socket I was using literally exploded.
Ughhh New England winters
Decided to wrap it up for the day and wait until I can use my friends lift before I pull the torch out.
Pretty disappointed...I was really looking forward to driving the car with the new sway bar.
Cleaned both girls. My camera went poo today for some reason, phone probably overheated in the sun... Fine now, but all the photos I took today are completely messed up. These are the best ones unfortunately.
Well considering 6mt sedans are rare and then given the colorway. It’s about supply and demand as well as knowing the history of a car too. It’s a feeler so we shall see
All the 6MT sedans I looked at were more than pricing "guides" said they should be. I know I probably paid $1-2k more that they say I "should" have, but I knew what I wanted and it took me a couple months to find one, from what I hear is a relatively short time. Aaaaand, I had to drive to TN to get it.
