I have no interest in tricking it out/lowering/drifting/whatever
Sways are one of the most promoted upgrades for the platform, you will definitely enjoy the enhancement (although I do suggest both front and rear)..... as for anything else, it is all personal taste and preference. Welcome to the site, and enjoy your new G!
Got new beluga y-pipe, berk hfc, already have custom axle back, started rust proof y-pipe with rust/heat resistant primer then paint it with heat resistant black paint. Once I install both over the weekend will let it cure. Got ratchet extensions 32" + and pb blaster for demon bolts arriving tomorrow.
HFC's will remain untouched, they dont need to be sprayed.
Fixed my damaged wheel rim, and bought second one new, it was beyond repair. Will have my summer wheels/tires mounted this saturday. Will show you guy some pictures of the progress in a day or two. Going to retune my car next week, hopefully hit dyno by following weekend or so.
seriously though, sucks cause keying almost certainly requires new paint (ii'm yet to see one that was shallow enough not to), maybe consider a vinyl wrap if you are paying out of pocket instead of a full repaint
Taking up more than one parking space in a crowded parking lot perhaps, can trigger pissing off other shoppers?
Last week I installed my GT-Spec FTSB. I know there's debate on whether it actually does anything or not but I noticed a huge difference in handling. I already had eibach spring/sways/moog endlinks and when I installed all of those components last year I wasn't all that impressed with really "tightening up" the suspension. With the addition of the FTSB it seemed to have been the one piece that put it all together it handles much better. But there has been one change I'm not to impressed with. I now get wheel shake around highway speed 60+. All I did was install the FTSB, no other changes at all. Open hood, install, close hood all of 10-15 minutes worth of work. I torqued all the bolts to spec 38 ft-lbs so if anyone else has had this happen, my ears are open to see what may be causing this. My next step is to take it back off and see if the shake is still there even though it wasn't before.
QuinnDEskimo you should look into upgrading your shocks or getting coilovers. That's the missing link for really tightening your suspension down. As for the vibrations... no clue.

I don't think there's a debate, it does what it does in specific situations, and some people dismiss it either because they're not recognizing things, or because their expectations were unrealistic. But I sure wouldn't use the word huge.
Regardless, you're happy with the changes, and that's cool.

Was the car on a lift by chance and therefore the upper mount/hat was not under full load? Probably very unlikely but about the only thing I can think of.
If not, then I would highly suggest it was just coincidental of timing with the installation and is something else on the car. Ive never heard of a FTSB causing vibration .
Okay so maybe my expectations were that it wasn't going to do anything at all going into it so I'm very pleased with the results. Yes, I'm certainly happy. To me it was a huge difference. Not going to speak for everyone's experience if they've had one installed. I wish I could explain but I swear it's night and day in the corners now. Believe it or not.
Thanks for the feedback on the vibration and it seems that it's not a common issue so I'll have to do some diagnosing on my own.
From what I remember, GT-Spec needs to be installed with the wheels off the ground vs Cusco that needs the car to sit on the ground. I doubt it will affect any vibrations or anything, but who knows. Possible play in the struts themselves because of not being tightened enough? Hard to say.
Also, on the effectiveness, it helps reduce oversteer a little bit, so cornering you will feel it, however it is nowhere near as effective as it would be on a car with macpherson struts instead of our double wishbone setup. For our cars it helps transfer loads a little bit to the other side of the car, and helps transfer impact and vibrations to both strut towers. Engineering Explained just released a fantastic video on this exact topic like a month ago.
I installed a raceseng spherology shift **** and redline boot this evening. Oh boy what a pain in the *** that all is. I really tried to save my stock **** for a while, but ultimately just gave up and shredded it with a 12" pair of channel locks. Separating the retaining bezel for the boot was easy enough but it is a little unnerving as your popping off all of the little rivet buttons.
Installing the **** was a piece of cake. Really straightforward with their threaded adapter and the top screw to align the shiftgate engraving. I opted for the boot retainer and it gives it a really clean look. I'm glad I did. The shift boot itself has most of the necessary holes but was missing cutouts for the four barbed tabs that hold the bezel together. I made a little slit with a razor knife while holding it in place and then pressed it through. I was surprised how difficult it was to keep the boot on all of the little pegs and tabs while reassembling the two piece bezel. They sort of sandwich the bottom of the boot and hold it in place if you haven't seen it apart before.
As for impressions. The raceseng **** is incredibly well made and is absolutely beautiful. Perfectly finished. The shift boot looks good and other than a few missing prep holes it appears pretty well made. Both match the aesthetics of the interior nicely. Definite upgrade to me. I hated the stock **** both in looks and feel.
Sometime last week I also updated the armrest cover with a new piece and extra padding from redline. I had ambitions of wrapping it on myself but after a halfhearted attempt at simply lining it up I opted to rely on a professional. I had it uninstalled and disassembled already so I just dropped it off a local upholstery shop. They had it done the next day and charged me $50. I was happy with that.
The piece looks decent. The stitching isn't as straight as I had hoped and the perforations aren't aligned exactly straight, but it's fairly inexpensive and you generally get what you pay for I suppose. I do wish I had seen the other posts with non-perforated leather on the side panels to match the seats better. I had no idea that was even an option. Oh well. Overall I'm pleased with it. Around $100 installed and it adds to the appearance in a subtle way that I appreciate.
You're right that the stitching isn't straight, how odd. And the side panel perf pattern is off, where I agree it would have been a non-issue and arguably looked better non-perf'd. However your top panel perf orientation is spot on at 45 degrees (lucky), and the armrest looks so-o-o much better than OEM.
Great job with your shift boot, and your choice in *****. That looks gorgeous. Obviously aftermarket to you and me, but to the untrained eye it looks OEM and upscale. Seriously, great choice.
I think you have every reason to be happy here. Nice photos, too.
So... P-brake handle boot and some Carso ***** on your list?

I want these so bad, but they're out of stock. I emailed their customer service and was told they don't know if/when they're gonna offer them again.
They come up in the classifieds section often, but go quickly. My advice would be: If you see a set, just immediately IM the person and pay what they are asking.

I really hadn't thought about the brake boot as it didn't originally come with one. I read some on here about you and a few others with them. Maybe some day. Don't have a strong feeling either way.
I like the looks of the carsmos. I've hemmed and hawed back and forth. A little reluctant to pay over $50 for little round *****. It's all relative I guess. I did just pay almost $180 shipped for a shift **** so what am I really talking about...
Sounds like they may not be available now? Maybe I'll look for a used set. Anyone have a set they're parting with? Let me know.
I will add that the overall experience with raceseng was very positive. A lot of information (and UNLIMITED choices) on their site that made it easy and it arrived 3 days after I ordered it. Install instructions are easy to find and they also include the link in the package. The packaging is engineered (for lack of a better term) and befitting something luxurious.
