It's not really just fancy for looks, it actually is quite functional. Makes oil changes a lot easier and much more durable than the stock plastic undertray. Plus if you're lowered, it gives slightly more ground clearance. I've got one on mine and I've scraped a lot of bumps without making any dents on it.

Nice what brand software did you choose? Also, did you notice any substantial difference from the bushings?

Yes. Everything is tight, no rattles. I was just noticing bumps and undulations on roads I'm on all the time felt more pronounced like the shocks had less low speed control.

People have posted getting the Basis for around $450 shipped. When Swift springs runn ~$300, you're basically getting a set of dampers for an incremental $150, so they probably aren't the greatest, but likely better than worn out OE shocks

Or... slightly better than OEM Sport dampers, but with height adjustment.

So if you' come into the Teins from an AWD G Sedan, or a Journey with the non-Sport suspension, it should be a welcome upgrade. Otherwise, the benefit is mostly height adjustment, IMO.

I've heard the Basis referred to as available for the AWDs on here before but have never been able to locate any actual part numbers...you wouldn't happen to know them would you?...it would be sweet if there really was a coil-over option for this cheap for the AWD...everything else starts at about double

I'm sorry, I probably misspoke about the Basis being available for the AWD.

My point was only to the fact that the AWD Sedan and the Journey non-Sport have a non-sport suspension, and comparing that to the Basis would be a noticeable upgrade. Whether or not it's available for the AWD... beats me. I don't think it is, tho.

Oh all good....you are definitely not the only one that mentioned it on here though, I was just being hopeful because I completely agree with your logic on the cost/benefit...

Perhaps my OEM S shocks were blown, but I found the difference between stock and the coils to be night and day. Even on the crappiest Nexens in existence the car handled like it was on rails... and once I got the DWS06s it was on another level.

The difference I'm talking about isn't from OEM to the coilovers, but from the coilovers earlier in the year I've had them vs now. I still think they may be a bit underdamped and not quite up to the rigors of the G's added weight as I am certain they were designed for the Z. Car feels more planted but not as planted as it could be. I'm just on the fence as to whether to get the Flex Zs and possibly run into the same issues, or go ahead and build out my Koni Yellow hybrid coilover setup. Everything with coils comes from the dampers and I still don't quite trust Tein over the long haul.

i got EcuTek, as my mechanic is also an Ecutek tuner. at this point i havent driven enough to give detailed feedback, throttle response is the most obvious thing right away, but i will review more later. As far as bushings, its very noticeable, car feels very precise in the back, i was already lowered on tein coils, but now the car feels so planted i love it.
