If I hadn't already replaced my turn signals with LED bulbs, I would definitely pull the trigger on the DD kit.
I found a couple sets of JDM tails here in Japan for like $100 so this is gonna be a tough decision.

Well for that price I would snag a set... if you decide not to get the JDM tails, want to get them for me instead?

IDK where I lifted this opinion, but I thought there were problems with this mod when DD first came out with it? Yes, no? If yes, is this a v2 model?

And is the current $40 DD price a promo, or the final ask?

Wait. I found the DIode Dynamics video on this mod, and it was originally a DIY project, not PnP. So... is this 100% PnP now for the G Sedan, or do I have to get out the wire cutters and hack at things with my big meaty fingers?

It says no wiring necessary on their product page... But sometimes marketing materials overlap. Is this purely PnP now, Furlow?

Purely plug and play. I watched the install video before placing my order. Takes less than 5 minutes it appears. Unplug factory harness, plug in DD module, plug factory harness into DD module and done.

Plug and play the instal video shows it so easy! I'm glad they were able to offer this for the sedans! 40 dollar mod is great :-)

I actually ordered mine about a month ago, and it was the DIY. But I know a guy and he did it for a case of beer for me lol. This is actual plug and play which is obviously better. So anyone with a sedan should push the button on this! It's makes a big difference. One of the added benefits is when you lock or unlock the car, the tail lights light up instead of the regular blinker bulb. I find myself locking my car 2-3 times just so I can watch the tail lights light up lol.

Very coincidentally, I had a Diode Dynamics email in my spam folder which was promoting this item. Apparently being fully PnP is a new-ish thing.

It is officially on my list now, for December. Cool!

100% Plug and Play! Took us a while to source the OEM connectors, but we've done it!

This is a popular color.

Looks good with the black sticker but I'm glad I went with red for mine.

Ok here is an EMAIL through EBAY I sent to TOPSPEED and their response....No that I'm taking their word over the boards...here it is....ME :I ordered a TopSpeed intake for my G37xS and I have it installed correctly, at least I think so, It did not come with directions, the only problem I'm having is where to put the heat shield and for some reason , maybe the pictures are wrong , But when I have mine hooked up the Topspeed logo is on the drivers side of the car, in the pic its on the passenger side....anyways wheres the damn heat shield go ??...THEM:
Honestly we do not even use the heat shield when installing the systems here. It is a radiator hose cover but it is mainly cosmetic and not required....ME: A lot of people on myG37.com seem to think a heat shield is necessary, you don't??...THEM :We have been in business for over 20 years and have never included a heatshield with our g37 intakes.

Thank you!

THOUGHTS ?? smh

Just let it go, and enjoy the sound.

If it continues to bother you, then get a proper long-tube intake with genuine access to cold-air. Or put the OEM intake setup back on for the same reason. But I think you're over-analyzing this to the point of being unhappy about the mod... which is opposite of what you set out to do.

Heat shields will only do so much, and by that I mean not much at all, since the intakes are still drawing in air from your hot engine bay. You will notice some loss in power contributed by heat soak, particularly if you live in an area with a hot climate. While it won't kill your engine, it won't be running as well as if it had a CAI or stock airbox.

At the end of the day, intakes don't really add much power anyways so at this point the whole thing is for cosmetics, with or without the heat shields lol.

I don't think I'm overanalyzing it, I think its just the responses I initially got. I think it flows better, I don't feel any negative effect from it, with that said.....I choose to.......LET IT GO, the cold never bothered me anyway !!..LMAO
