Glad to hear that they came through with the parts! too bad about the reschedule but i'm sure the wait will be worth it. looking forward to your review of the upgrade
The other day, I found this picture of my old 2003 Maxima SE 6MT.
That was a really great car for its class.
That was a fun car. The car I learned to drive stick on was an '89 Maxima SE. The original "4DSC." The new Maxima is better in every way, except the lack of a stick shift and the fact that it seems to keep getting bigger. Amazing how well the new one handles though with FWD.
The angle of that picture is a bit deceptive. It did not look like a 4x4 in person at all.
lol, oh I know, It looked fantastic in person just in the pic its looks super high...I remember going with my buddy to buy one about ten years ago and being really impressed...also I remember we couldn't get it into reverse on the test drive and had to call for help cause we didn't know about the push down ring on the gear shift...a couple of doofus' we were...
There it is! I was waiting for you to try to convince me that you just drive it to church on Sundays like Rochester.
My idea of Church is Cars & Coffee on Saturday and a Jeep run in the mountains on Sunday. No church for me. Although I do tend to drive my car like I'm going to church.

I was going to leave my beliefs to myself since this is your thread... but let me just say this... I respect your decision and am in full agreement with you. Smart man!

Wow, I think I like you even more now. John. I also used to be a proud owner of a Nissan Maxima SE. Although mine was a 4th Gen 1995 Maxima SE with the 5MT tranny!
Curious... what wheels did you have on your Maxima? I had Borbet CF's on mine, which looked like they might be similar to what you had on yours... based on the very limited view I have of yours.

OEM 17" 6-spokes that came with the 5.5 Gen SE. Easiest god damn wheels in the world to clean.

Before the '03, I was driving a 1999 SE 5MT on a 3 1/2 year lease. It was vastly slower than the 2003, and completely unmodified. But it was light and chuckable, while still pretty luxurious for its day. (My 2003... that was very modified with aftermarket parts and custom mods. )
Here's a pic of the '99. For those of you offended by 90's wheel gap... look away.
