It is always better to have matching tires on a vehicle. However, the general exception is that if you can not have all 4 matching for whatever reason, atleast have the 2 tires on the same axle matching. So basically, 2 of the same tires on the front of the vehicle, and 2 of the same on the back.

Do you happen to know how much tread is left on the front tires? As Track Star mentioned, it's generally best to have matching tires on all 4 corners so if there's a decent amount of life left on the fronts putting a pair of Goodyears on the rear wheels will probably be your cheapest option.

On the other hand, if the fronts are fairly worn as well you're probably best off replacing the whole set.

Thanks guys. I don't know exactly how much tread is left on front tire but they seemed pretty good. So I will go with Good year then.

Fingers crossed! I am going all the way to California to purchase the car and driving back with friend.

Question related to liens.

So dealer is located in California. I being in Seattle, applied for finance in bank in Seattle. Bank guy says to confirm with the dealer if they process out of state lien perfections. Meaning they will be taking care of transferring the title to Washington.

Can somebody help me understand what is this supposed to mean?

If car has genuinely no lien and is owned by dealer, would he have any issues in transferring the title to Washington? Would that incur any charges that he might ask me for that? Can he do that before I actually fly down there to buy the car?

-Dealer once said that either I use his financing options or pay in full before he can release the vehicle. If I understand correctly now - Bank won't give me loan for out of state car and dealer won't sell until I pay full. Is it correct?

I am not even sure if I asked correct questions above.

I think it may depend on your bank. I live in NOLA and purchased (last week) my 2011 vert in Mobile, AL. My bank (Chase) had no problems whatsoever in giving me a loan. In the end, the dealership was able to get me 1.69%, so I went with their bank (Cap One).

With that said, I was in your same situation about wanting to purchase a car from a non-Infiniti dealership that was 2 hours away. I told the salesman I was dealing with that if he wants me to buy his car, he will drive it a few miles down the street to the Infiniti dealership where I had already arranged (on my dime of course) to have it inspected. It was a bit more expensive than probably a lot of mechanics, but #1 Infiniti knows what to look for in an Infiniti (esp a vert) and #2 how do I know a reputable mechanic 2 hours from my home?

BTW, I got a 2011 vert with Nav, Prem, Tire Package and Interior Package with 19,500 miles for $33k plus taxes. There are deals out there...there is no rush, but don't pass up a good thing. It took me 6 months to find my car and I love my vert.
