How bad is this wrinkle for used car?
How bad is this wrinkle for used car?
I am considering one 2010 used G37 for buying and from the pics, I found online, I noticed, it has one big visible wrinkle on driver's seat.

I know wrinkles are little common but how bad is this one? Can I ask dealer to replace the seat under warranty?

That type of wrinkle usually comes from putting their hand there when they get out of the car.
I don't know dude, a non-factory seat ends up looking weird, even though it's from the dealer. It won't match the passenger side. I'd say deal with it.

It turned out that I have more serious issues to worry about. There is some damage to frame reported in AutoCheck history report. Report has this record "AUCTION ANNOUNCED AS UNIBODY DAMAGE".
Carfax reported given by dealer does not show any such thing. I have scheduled external mechanic inspection to see how bad it is.
I will keep this thread updated with the inspection report, but any suggestions on buying car which had frame damage? They must have done some paint work. Does it reduce the safety, price of car when I would sell it?
This car is in remote location so I haven;t yet got a chance to see the car in actual myself.

Remember the resale value of that car is down too so if you ever sell it again that frame damage info will lower the value a lot, almost to point of salvage if someone finds info, could be a car a insurance company didn't wanna total, my two cents
Frame damage! You have two choices, run away or run away faster. Unless this car is 1/2 the price of a similar car, it's not worth even thinking about.

Frame damage is the worst thing a car could have, I would run from that car, even a hint of it and I wouldn't consider. You might be getting a really good deal and that's why you want it so badly, if it's too good to be true, it usually is.

Here's an update.
So inspection report came and car seemed to have seen lot of damage. lot of paint work, non uniform wear n tear in tires, paint chipping off. etc. So I have cancelled the deal.
Before I knew all this, I was going for it because I thought it was a good deal. $31,500 for 2010 G37 Vert - Sports - Black - Automatic. Not sure if it was but at least that's what I thought.
Now I am looking at car with same specifications but a year older - 2009 G37 Sports - vert - Automatic. Price of this car is $29,980. How does this deal sound to you guys?
This car has a good history, great score of 98 from Auto check, no damages reported etc. Except it had creaking noise which they claim they have got it fixed and one small scratch on side. I would still schedule the external mechanic inspection and take more test drive.
At least I learnt something. That Car Fax is not at all reliable. Auto check reports have much more details.

Friend of mine has an '09 vert, every time he sits in my '10 coupe S, he gets jealous of my HD Nav screen, my USB port, and my Bluetooth audio (biggest thing for him). If it were me, I'd get the '10, but if those things I mentioned don't matter to you, get the '09 and put the 1500 left over towards mods. If you (or your parents, you mentioned that it's your first car) are financing and are getting around the same interest rate on both cars, you might as well get the 2010 IMO.

I don't have Bluetooth but you can get a adapter and create one, far as USB ports you can use any charger, and the Nav HD screen I can't comment how much better it is, but if the 2010 is only $500-1000 more I would pay it, if it's more than that, than u can get a $50 Bluetooth adapter, a $10 USB car charger, and unless you watching movies on your navigation I don't see the need for HD, but it all depends on the price difference
Also my 2008 G37S obviously not vert has RCA plugs which lets me play movies on my nav screen I believe that feature was taken out in newer models
