I was also skipping external inspection but now I would certainly need to get that taken care of.

Any suggestions guys?
Bro your thinking too much just get it, everything seems good.

And far as certifications go, dealers certify them, there's no OEM
Certification, where did you even hear of that, if the dealer doesn't certify where else would it go, back to Japan to be certified? Loll

Feels like I want to hear go and get it lol..

This dealer is not part of Infiniti franchise so he can't access Infiniti certification program. At least that's what he said. This certification is from his dealership only probably meaning that some body from his dealership inspected it. And extended warranty is being provided by some third party company known as Portfolio. Though he said that that warranty is valid at any Infiniti dealership.

I don't know what to say, you are buying from a third party but you are getting a extended warranty, u can't drive it to infiniti or ur own mechanic and have him look at it? Carfax, other reports and title are clean right? Take someone with more knowledge with you to look over the car again

If it's not a proper Infiniti CPO then I would probably error and the side of caution and treat it as a normal "as is" used car purchase; so basically have it inspected by an independent mechanic and budget for fixing things yourself.

Those third party warrantees can be useful but sometimes they are designed to make it nearly impossible to get a claim paid assuming the company still exists years down the road when you have a problem. I don't want to be too harsh on this particular company, I've never dealt with them so they could very well be fine, it's just something to keep in mind.

Definitely have a outside mechanic look at. Those tires looks like they will need to be replaced soon. I'd push for them to give you a new set.

Quick update:

I got the mechanic inspection done. He also pointed out and the tire is almost at the end of life and needs to be replaced. Here is the pic again.

I tried to negotiate with the dealer to replace the rear tires with new ones(rear tires are one that are worn out) but he is only willing to pay for mounting or labor cost and said I would have to pay for the tires.

Is it okay that I insist on him paying for tires? Or should I try to negotiate to offer to pay for half of the price since I am getting new tires. Or should I break the deal!?

Also in this car, front tires are less worn out than rear. Though it's uniform on each pair. Is it normal or alignment issue that needs to be fixed as well?

Suggestions would be appreciated.

You still haven't bought the car yet? All depends on how much of a deal it is, if the car is at a good price just suck it up and pay for new tires, a dealer is only making so much until he can pay for more repair. Anyways if after all the search this is the car you found and still interested in it and it is reasonably priced and mechanically fine just buy it. You can try to get dealer to pay for some of the tire or ask for some off on the car, if that doesn't work still buy the car, unless it's not 100% what you want

Yeah I am still looking out for the car.

Car seems to be in good condition except tires and scratch mark underneath front bumper (from curb but they are not visible at normal angles). Price is $33K as I stated in earlier post. For this price, I feel, car should have been in really good condition without any major issues like this. One more reason I am so interested in this car because I am not able to find any other within 1000 miles of my area. Seems sports + Nav + premium package is not so common.

Any idea how much would tire cost? Current tire is Bridgestone Potenza.

Tirerack or Discount Tire will let you price out the various tire options available to you. Poking around the wheels & tires section of the forums might also be helpful as there are a lot of arguably better options out there than the Bridgestone RE050As that the car has right now.

To answer your earlier question, it's fairly common for the rear tires on a RWD car to wear faster than the fronts.

Unfortunately, I don't know even ABC of tires and wheels. What would be your recommendation? I am fine with cost upto $200 each.

Car is 2010 Infiniti G37 vert with sports package.

You will if you google, goto the tire rack site and looks at ratings, goto the tires section on this forum, or search on here or goto local tire shop. Gotta do some research, everyone starts somewhere, $200 a tire you will find many options

I already tried it but all those technical specifications put me in doubt. Let me try again.

So after poking around a bit and understanding how tire specification is written, I zeroed upon two tires.

Bridgestone Potenza RE760 245/40/19 and Goodyear Eagle RSA. Both cost around $211. I am probably thinking of going with Potenza. I had only one question on this. Front tires in car are of Good year Eagle RSA. Would it be good idea to match front and rear tires or it's fine if they belong to different brand like Bridgestone.
