Hey @blnewt
I know they would be taller than the factory sized but on the 20x9 ET 35 Do you think I can get away with a 245/40/20 instead of 245/35? I have the Tein Street Basis coil overs I will be installing. I kind of want a little more sidewall. I guess I can go 255/35 but not sure if I can do that without extra camber.

Your thoughts?

You should be able to run them without issues on a RWD, I'd lean toward the 255/35 though, you'll have room at the fender. I have more than enough room on my 9.5 +38 to run 255s and you would have about 3mm more room inside than me

Do the sedans come with rolled rear arches from factory like the coupes?

what about 07-08 sedans?

Managed to bend one of my wheels this past fall and was thinking of stepping down a size to 19" (while upgrading wheels themselves) so it hopefully doesn't happen again. Here's my potential plan:

Weds SA-15R (color TBD, might powdercoat them, who knows)
19x9.5 +35 255/40
19x10.5 +45 285/35

Thoughts??

Yes, from 07-on the rears have flat-rolled rear fender edges, but the fronts are semi rolled, but simple to flat roll if needed.

Your sedan is lowered right? If so, that's a good setup, should have no issues other than a little rubbing of the felt fender liner for a while, it eventually wears enough that it's silent

I've been very happy with the finish quality on my Wedsports, if you can see them in person I doubt you'd want to repaint them, but that's just my O.

Not yet, but Tein coils likely coming in a few months. And I definitely will side with your opinion then.

Thanks for all your help, Brad.

that's great news. Should make my transition from IPL TO sedan a little easier. Just have to find a 6mt sedan.

Hmmm, need to haul kids now or just tired of guys wanting to race from light to light

Keep in mind that the sedan doesn't have the wider fenders of the coupe so I doubt your awesome wheels would fit well on a sedan.

kiddos. Not too many racers around here.
Definitely not going to try to fit the re30 on the sedan sadly. Maybe ce28 much higher offsets.

2013 G37x Sedan, 19x10 +38 square, 255/40R19 all around. Probably dropped on Swifts. Any rubbing issues?

Rear will be ok, front fender edge isn't flat-rolled like the rear so you may have to flat roll the front edge, or keep your camber out of spec after the drop.

Probably not a good idea, given the huge amount of salt on the roads in the winter. Slight paint crack = rotten fender.
Thanks for the help.

And yeah, those 20" w/ taller sidewall tires will ride better (and look more reasonable) than those 22s on a G.
OK, did the deed. Replaced the 22 inch Niches sporting 235/30 tires with nearly identical 20 inch +40 8.5 wide Lexanis wrapped in 255/35 rubber.

Drives much smoother and less slot-car like and no rubbing at all.

I actually think the Niches are nicer wheels, but I'm happy to sacrifice some looks for the improved driving manners.

What's everybody think? Good decision or bad? Note that the after pictures were taken with a cell phone camera when the car wasn't nearly as clean, but should be sufficient for comparison.....

Looks like you wanted a similar wheel design, so in that regard "mission accomplished", glad you're happy w/ the improved ride, and any plans to lower your G?
