Since this seems to be the place to pose this type of question....

2013 G37x sedan; stock suspension.

Looking at a set of used 20x8.5 inch wheels to replace my current 22s. All four are +20 offset. I want to run 245/40 tires all the way around. Is this going to fit? I know the stock offset for the X is +45, so won't this mean that they will stick out a bit more? This is no consequence with stock suspension, correct?

Thanks

I have G37xS. Since its AWD I can't have a offset. Could I run 245/40/19 (9)in the front and 275/35/19 (10.5) in the Rear?

Please let me know don't wanna blow up my tranny cause of the awd lmao thanks

245/35/20 is what you should run, the 245/40s are a lot taller than your OEM tire size, I wouldn't do that.

Those wheels will be poking quite a bit, if you aren't lowered they will be outside the fender about 1/2", the tires should tuck into the fenders ok, so if you don't mind that poke then you could make them work, but be sure to run 245/35.

Also if you aren't lowered the large fender gap seems even larger when you run 20s, so it can look a bit off It's an optical illusion, but it's there.

Steamroller in back

Looking into a custom set of split 5 spoke, 2 piece wheels (for my dailies).
2012 G37S Sedan, stock ride height (for now), stock camber.

20x9.5+40 in front with 255/40-20s (pretty confident this is fine)
20x10.5+55 in rear with 285/30-20s.

I am going to send the sport brake profile to them to verify it will fit first.

Out of all of the research I have done between this thread and the 'square' thread, I have never seen anyone run anything more than a +40 in the rear. Based on the tire calculators, the rear will be 30.4mm (1.2") closer to suspension components on the inside. With my stock 245/45-18s, I climbed underneath and ran a 1" width socket all the way around the rears to see if I was coming close to suspension components. I think it still gives me about 1/2" of clearance even with the 285s and the +55 offset. These +55s in the rear with 285s will also stick out 20.4mm (0.8") further than the stock 245/45 on the 8.5" wide +50 stock wheels.

blnewt, thoughts?

There are quite a few 10.5 +45 setups on sedans, just not quite sure if an additional 10mm to the inside will be a problem. I ran 10 +45 w/ 295s and there was still decent room to go inward. Heading out on a road trip so I wouldn't be able to get under there and check things out. IIRC there was still a 3/4" (about 18mm) to go our on my 10 +45 so I'm thinking you'll be ok, but without actually being able to verify I'd hate to say "go for it" only to have you end up w/ issues.

Maybe you can check around the site and see any current 10.5 +45 setups that they could check for you???

Need help please. Read through a lot of this but didn't see exactly the measurements I'm considering.
Found a good deal on 20x10.5 +40 square set up with deep concave. I'm in a 2012 G37S sedan with the sport brakes and currently on coils but will be going air suspension very soon. Want to be sure these will fit and tuck with full drop without doing much camber adjustments.
I'm thinking for tires - 255/30/20 front and 275/35/20 rear
Will it work?

Worse than 22's look? To be honest, i'd rather have some wheel gap and have some sidewall, just from a driveability standpoint alone.

I found a pic of a black sedan with the same wheels(brand and size):

I'm seeing the wheel gap but I want to run bigger tires anyway.

245/40-20 is only 3.5% bigger than the stock 225/50-18. The 235/30-22's on it now are 2.6% bigger than stock. I thought that as long as the diameter was consistent on all 4 that you were good to go with the AWD system. Perhaps 255/35/-20's would be an even better choice--almost exactly the same diameter(26.86 inches for stock vs 27.06 inches). 255s too wide?

I'd gladly trade some wheel gap for more sidewall. Looks are secondary. Besides, these wheels are cheap so that comes into play too. I also find it odd that 20" tires are cheaper than 19 inch tires....wtf?

Thanks for the help!

safooma, depends on the wheel offset, but 255/35 would be a better choice than the 245/40. The taller tires aren't as much of an issue as a diameter variance front to back w/ AWD, so you are correct that the taller tires should be ok, but sticking w/ tires closer to oem diameter is the best plan, and when you add in the AWD system, being closest to stock is what I'd recommend.

And yeah, those 20" w/ taller sidewall tires will ride better (and look more reasonable) than those 22s on a G.

Take a look at pg 1 of this thread, MylilG and Tbulsara are running 10.5 square setups they are running 275s all around on a +35 & +38 offset, so you would be a few mm inside those sets
https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...post-here.html
Big brake caliper clearance would have to be confirmed prior to purchase though.
