Thanks for the pictures! Believe it or not a 19x10 +45 and 19x10.5 +45 net the same results as far as the fender clearances. You have a "fatter" looking 295 than I would.

Edit: See attached picture of OEM (Top left) compared to 295/35-19x10.5 +45.

I think running a 295 is gonna depend on the brand of tire. some will rub and some will not. I think Diego can answer this question

You might try using this calculator, I noticed the same glitch in the one you pasted when I was sizing mine. Try plugging those values in here~
https://www.myg37.com/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php
Here's what the difference would be according to the G37 version~

Inner Clearance:
6.35mm less
Outer Position:
extend by 6.35mm
Diameter difference:
0" (0.00%)

FWIW, a tenth or two difference here and there really isn't that big a deal. Every tire will have a different height even if spec'd the same, even the width of the mounting rim will affect the overall height and width of the tire, not to mention tire pressures.

You get over a quarter inch difference in height just by the nature of the tire wearing down.

Good points^
Just surprised the Rimsntires.com calculator program hasn't addressed that rather glaring flaw. 6mm could be significant when you're cutting it close at the fenders

So ya'll think I should stick with the 255/40 & 285/35?

I'd hate to suggest 295s and then you have clearance issues. That said, the actual clearance at the top of the tire will be the same w/ your 10.5" rim but the rim/sidewall area will be 6mm out from where my rims are. Not sure how much effect that would have since you'll be higher up w/ your swifts, but with some crazy severe impact it may contact that fender lip
I dunno, pretty close call IMO.

Yeah... My gut is telling me to stick with the 255/40 & 285/35.

No kidding. I wonder if they just don't realize it?

Rob, when will you be back in town? Once you get the Swifts on, our cars will be rather similar in drop, the only differences will be in camber/toe settings. Perhaps you can look at it in person yourself and judge.

FWIW, i'm running in-spec camber. My new combo is pretty much flush, IMHO, just not as obvious as Brad's since his drop is pretty much spot-on, and his meatier tires have sidewalls that are practically vertical. My rears are only 9.5 +40. I couldn't test it well enough for clearance and got 255s for it instead, which clear just fine, but does look pretty close.

Another thing to consider, if your choice of tire manufacturer has a 30-day trial, you could go the conservative route and if it's not enough, go wider.

Thank Mike! I won't be home till May 2nd. And I'll have my wheels waiting for me as well as a 9 month pregnant wife. LOL So I want to order the tires and have them mounted to the wheels so I can just throw them on quickly. I think the 255/40 & 285/35 will fit without issue. My concern was the difference in sidewall height between the two.

I'll have to look into that 30-day trial. Thanks for the info!

Crazy awesome! First I'm leaving Iraq for 20+ days! Going to see my wife, have a son, have new wheels waiting for me, new parts for my shotgun, taking a combat shotgun course, and going to be driving the Z stupidly.

I've got some time tomorrow to take some closeup pics if you want w/ a measuring stick so you can see how much clearance I have. The more I think about it you should be able to squeeze those 295s in there since the tire's shoulder will only change a 1/4" and since Dagon's got the same offset setup as mine but w/ 10.5" wheels and his clear Ok, you should be alright. Those 295s would look killer w/ those wheels.
just let me know......

Not sure if these will help or just further muddy the water
Maybe Dagon can get you closeups since he's on 10.5" wheels.
It's going to be close, the tip of the ruler is where the upper tire rubber bends flat, so like Dagon mentioned it's pretty dependent on the tire section width as I'm sure there's quite a bit of variance between tire brands.
