It sounds okay. I know the Greddy due out isn't a full setup, but I love the exhaust note on the Z. I would love something along those lines. But could definitely be interested in the new muffler combo. When is it due?

 

Nope, it is just a hit and miss thing. Mine is starting to make some noice but only at start up. So sound worse than others though so people might have the issue but it might not sound that bad such as mine.

i have test pipes on my car. if i go to the dealership asking for a new muffler will they give me one or will they try to use my test pipes as a way to get out of giving me a new one?

 

Depends on the dealer****, but my guess is that they will give you a hard time.

 

OK guys... *UPDATE* time: On my 3rd replacement muffler right now, noticed that the dealer gave me a muffler with a bent tip.
(Left tip is slightly pointing down and at an angle, not flush with bumper like the right tip is)

Solution: Order ANOTHER new muffler. That's right, my 4th replacement muffler.

Dealer called today, got the new muffler in. Guess what... part # is slightly different!!!!!! I was like, SEE i told you so. And they called me crazy when i told them there was apparently a new build as of Feb 2008.

Old Part #: 20100-JL01A
New Part #: 200100-JL01B

Hopefully will be getting this replaced on Wednesday. Will confirm part # and post sound clips after that day.

 

Sweet!! Maybe mine will crap out again soon and I'll get the "newer" version. Well unless I end up with some aftermarket one before it croaks. It's just so hard to pick one though!!

I don't think there will be a fourth, I have had mine for couple thouse miles now& a o.k.

 

Just got back from Infiniti. They are ordering me a new one to put on next week. I'm just getting it so I have a new spare in the garage after the GReddy TI-C goes on.

do u guys with the rattle problem also get the sound when the car is off? I hear it when i close my doors or trunk and if u were to kick the tips of the exhaust a little bit u hear it rattle too.
