I agree with you guys on temperature being an issue with the top down with leather seats. When I test drove the M4 Competition convertible it was only 82 degrees and my back was sweaty from the leather not breathing. I would much rather have cloth. I think the 370Z roadster did a good job with their ventilated and A/C seats. In fact, I wonder if those would bolt up to a G37 convertible? Hmmm... If not I might have to invest in seat covers or suede inserts in the front seats. Not a big fan of leather seats. You sweat in them all summer and they are ice cold all winter.
I am not too worried about how often we would have the top down since I usually kept the top off my Gladiator for 2-3 weeks at a time. When I met my wife she had a Miata and always had the top down too. Again, I would much rather have a sedan, but I could see a convertible being fun and the exhaust probably sounds better with the top down.

Maybe things are different in appleton. Here in PRIL, one needs to keep the car locked inside a locked garage. Sometimes even that doesn't prevent breakin/theft.
Miata, huh? Why not get her another Miata? Or how about a Crossfire?
Saw a white Crossfire at the shop a few weeks ago, with a brown leather interior and black interior. Very nice. The Crossfire was a cool little vert.

Pretty sure the 'vert had ventilated seats.

The 370Z roadster has seats that are a type of mesh cloth in the centers that has a lot of breathability and then also includes an A/C fan that works awesome. The Infiniti convertibles I have seen all have the same heated full leather seats that I had in my sedan. They have little perforations, but no A/C. Maybe it was an option on some of them, but I have yet to see one.

I wonder if some cars actually have 'cooled' seats, or if they all use a fan to blow a/c? My wife's A4 has the latter, and it's pretty effective

Looks like the non-sport 'verts have ventilated seats https://www.myg37.com/forums/body-in...led-seats.html

Good to know. I seem to remember you mentioning this in another discussion- maybe when we were changing the gearing in our cars? Do any of the G37 verts have VLSD?
Nope. G37 Verts are all open diff, regardless of gears or transmission. It's weird.

I think my 2 favorite convertibles right now with a M/T and a back seat are the M4 and G37. Of course my wife likes the M4 a lot better, but it costs 2-3 times as much. I could only see justifying an M4 if I sell my car and start tracking it.
