What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?
I have spent a lot of wrench time on my 2013 G37S 6MT so it will be hard to get rid of when it comes time. I plan to keep it for a number of years, but as a gear head, it is always fun to look at the possibilities.
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...21ebd6871e.jpg If I am still looking for a high performance street/track car with 4 doors, then I think there are really only 3 options for me. BMW M3 Competition package- This would be a fun daily/track car and a very likely replacement for my G37S https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...036738af69.jpg Cadillac ATS V- Probably the most practical track car on the planet and probably what will replace my G37S if I don't get lured in by the significantly better styling of the M3 https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...4fe7e1e738.jpg Alfa Rome Gulia Quadrifoglio- Such a looker and apparently such a screamer and handler as well. Now if only we could get it here with a manual it would probably replace my G37S https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...9ddb5242b7.jpg |
M2 would be on my radar, only prob is no BMW dealer within a reasonable drive :(

Jaguar F-Type S Coupe 6MT
Never in my life have I wanted to own a car as much as I want this. Somewhere out there, someone is taking possession of this car brand new. They will barely drive it. And then in 2022, they will sell it to me used, or sell it to some dealership who will sell it to me. That's the plan. And if my youngest has to attend a State College because of it, well so be it. :hsugh: Don't judge me, LOL. https://a.gaw.to/photos/1/5/4/154636...uar_F-Type.jpg |

Can't wait for saywhat? to see this....but:
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...741a93deec.jpg C63 The C63 has been on my radar for awhile and years down the road this should fall into the realm of possibility. Stealth look that will blow your doors off. Followed closely by.. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...bf2bd7196a.jpg GT350 Very affordable, even with the markup. It's just another Mustang until it passes you; then it's a GT350 and no surprise: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...3f0ec24694.jpg ZL1 1 LE I hated the 5th Gen but these look fantastic. Love the aggressive front end and they waited for Ford to go first on this go around. Shortly after the GT-350 was released this animal came out. Switch day to day but who knows. If prices on FI parts for the G ever come down to match its value It would be hard not to.... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...9147c67dc6.jpg |
I like the new Audi S4 as a total-package upgrade to our G37S. If I were to bump up to M3 price levels, I'd then consider either the RS4 or maybe the C63S.

Used ATS-V sedan or a new STI.
Most likely in the market for a new car in Q4 2019. |
I was thinking about this earlier and I don't think there are many cars which are an overall step up from the G in terms of styling, interior, features and performance (and reliability) without a massive jump in price. I think the Audi S4 is a good upgrade though.
I drove a brand new 2016 STI with all the upgrades, and while it was fast the interior sucked and i'm just not a fan of the new styling on it. ATS-V are nice but not a fan of the interior and crappy infotainment system. So maybe S4/S5, ATS-V, M3, or even a Focus RS? |

What is this? No love for the Q50?
I don't really like the styling as much as our V36 G's, but they're still awesome, no? https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...a21fce5260.jpg |

I'll take my modified, six year old 6MT Sedan over a Red Sport slushbox any day. I mean, everyone has different automotive values, but I want a driver's car. If I can pull it off, I want a mid-life crisis car! :p |
The problem for me is that having owned an Audi S4 in the past, I don't want to own another German car. It is SUCH A BITCH to work on those things. So if I limit myself to Japanese cars, then there is no other brand I like more than the Nissan/Infiniti badge.
My next car would still have to be a 4-door, because family. And I would definitely want something performance-oriented. The best "other" option besides another Infiniti would be... maybe the Lexus ISF. I know they perform well, but the looks don't WOW me. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...60646be0b5.jpg |

I must say, it's an extremely nice-driving car. It's got that balance between sport and comfort which used to define BMW. That being said, only once you are in the car for a little while do you realize that it's quite a bit smaller than the competition - especially the G37. If I were single, I'd maybe consider an IS350. But as a family person, as well, I couldn't really see it working as well when filled with people and belongings. |
