I used to be a "Honda Guy" but that was decades before you were even born, lol. The K-series engines are pretty stout. While not as "beloved" as the D or H-series, there is still tons of aftermarket support for them. Even if you got "way over your head," there are plenty of folks willing to help.

You are only 23-years-old, yes? You have plenty of time to improve your skill set, do your research, and wrench on your projects. Judging from your posts, you are lightyears ahead of most folks in your age group when it comes to cars. That passion is becoming quite rare these days. I hope you never lose it!

I am 23, though most people that see me think I'm in my 30s because i have a wyatt earp mustache. Physically assembling or disaaaemblinge something i know i can do. Wiring is iffy for me and fab work. I have a little Wiring practice from work, mostly splicing and plug n play off a diagram. Hard part for me is when there's not clear cut instructions or directions. I can rig stuff pretty well but there's some things on a car that shouldn't be rigged. There is a lot of premade stuff for the fiero swaps though. I need to learn how to weld, kinda scares me though. My buddy is a really good welder, he's talking about moving to Florida with his brother in the next few years though. I am fairly handy with a grinder and decent at spray paint. I always get **** for my spray painted g37 but I'm happy with it, especially since maaco wanted over $3000 to paint it. If i ever got mine professionally painted I'd get the Infiniti lapis blue. It would match my wheels nicely.

To get your head around wiring, look at aircraft wiring first since it is so tightly regulated. You learn this stuff, then a race car is easy, and a street/production car will make you scoff. https://www.aircraftwiringguide.com/ about $40 and well worth it. Not up to modern specs for newer aircraft, but this would work for anything 767-era and older (and overkill for cars, but you'll learn *why* things are done a certain way, not just to do them that way).

I'll look into that. I'm sure some of it is similar to the control panel wiring i do here. Control panels for air compressors.

Hey Billy, I noticed you are form Cincinnati and was just curious what part of Cincinnati are you from? I finished high-school and went to college in Cincinnati way back in the late-80's and early-90's. And lived up in the Northern Suburbs in the West Chester & Mason areas. I was big into DSM's and Bimmers back then and regularly raced my Eclipse GSX and M3 at Edgewater, Tri-State, Mid-Ohio, Putnam, IRP, etc...

Sold my 2013 G37 sedan

Sorry gents I went to the dark side the electric side and got a Tesla model 3. I loved my G37 and babied it from day 1 but it was time to let her go after 10 years 181k miles. New owner loves it and that’s all that matters.

When I was in California a few years ago I couldn't believe the condition of some of the old cars on the road. Around these parts of america 90s Maximas/Camrys etc. are starting to disappear but there were plenty of nice ones out there.

My wife really wants a convertible and this M235i xdrive (awd) just showed up at one of our stores. It was extremely clean and relatively peppy with 320 hp and 330 lb/ft. Ironically, she thinks the coupe looks awful, but if it is a convertible it looks great. The only problem was that I did not take a close look at the back seat until I brought it home. Unfortunately, it was much too narrow for my daughter's car seat. So we would probably need a 4 series of some sort. I was originally thinking about an AMG CLA 45, Audi S5 Cabrio, or an M4 convertible, but I think she would have a lot more fun in winter with AWD. Any other used sports luxury convertible AWD cars in the $40k range I am forgetting?

There is a 2006 650i Convertible for sale at the park near my house for $9k (started at $79,495 new!). if you are ok with all the risks associated with owning barvarian makes 3 years or older ; 96K miles, mint condition (likely garage kept). Only $9K

Beautiful car. Likely belonged to somone's wife, original owner. Guessing that they discovered the N62 V8 valve stem problem and decided to sell.

Thanks for the offer, but I would want something a lot newer with a lot lower mileage so I could at least put a warranty on it for the expensive repairs. We actually just took in an 11 year old Mercedes CL63 AMG with only 26,000 miles that originally listed for about $180,000, but now would only be about $30k. Unfortunately, any sort of warranty would cost about $10,000 and nothing is cheap to fix on that car.

A friend of mine at my last employer owned a supercharged 2006 E55 AMG with low miles that he bought for 25K from a wealthy guy in Las Vegas that stored the car in a hanger with his airplane. The car was mint and pulled like there was no tomorrow. Another one that is very expensive to repair, but he was YOLO.
