Carbuzz seems to think the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will debut soon as it has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring. A hot hatch with 577 hp, 546 lb-ft, AWD, no need for gas or an oil change, and real track cred at the Nurburgring? Sign me up! I wonder if they are working on trying to make is sound good like Porsche since most Hyundai N vehicles sound really good. I would imagine it has a 300-ish mile range.
So how much will it cost? I think anything starting with a 5 in the price would still be a pretty good deal- especially if it qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax incentive. Or maybe they have a crazy good lease special with an insane residual value like a lot of other EV's have done. Thoughts?
I saw my first Kia EV6 in the wild last night. Realized it was behind me in a parking lot. Watched as a mother & daughter got in, pulled out and drove away.
The front of this car is drop dead gorgeous. The side profile is unique. And the rear perspective is just freaking weird. I'm lot liking that rear.
It looked wider and longer than a typical crossover (EV or otherwise), but also shorter. Kind of like some futuristic station wagon.
I do appreciate what is happening with EV's and the tech and all that, and I agree they are fast. Comparing an electric motor to an ICE is just like apples to oranges (just my personal opinion), so if anyone says "so-and-so EV can go 0-60mph in X seconds" or "it's way faster than a 370Z", it doesn't even matter to me because they are not in the same class. It is not a fair comparison. An EV just feels like an empty shell to me without the rawness of an ICE under the hood.
But having said all that, I completely respect your preferences and not trying to sound negative at all
You are right! I am concerned about the lack of sound or any sound they produce and no stick shift. Both things lack involvement and I would much rather involve all 5 senses. That is what I struggle with EV's.
No worries. It is an option for me, but like I mentioned above, not a perfect option.

Funny, I saw one on the way to work today and I agree that it looks slick from the front and side. I did not notice the back as it was driving in the opposite direction of me.
Don't worry guys, I am not 100% on these electric cars, but they are intriguing to me. As I mentioned above I struggle with the lack of a stick shift and the lack of any noise. That lacks involvement to me and I would rather involve all 5 senses.
That being said, the CT4-V Blackwing is still at the top of my list. I was pretty deadset on black with black wheels, but just discovered wave blue with tech bronze wheels. Maybe my Subaru roots are showing- lol! I think it looks very sporty with the tech bronze wheels and carbon fiber package. The 2nd pic is actual of the CT5-V so I guess the tech bronze wheels do not pop quite as much as I thought in the 1st pic. What do you think?
This black with black wheels was my original thought and it is a bit cheaper, but I feel like a blacked out Cadillac is so common.
Wave blue is surprisingly uncommon and I have been thinking of changing my order to Wave Blue as well. I was back and forth on the tech brown wheels but I have made my mind up it is the correct decision to make. I don't think they are as dark as they appear in that 5BW photo.
^^It's been ~2 months since I last washed the stinger. It's the ceramic silver color. Not quite a dirt impervious as KAD. Still after 2 months hard to see much dirt other than the dead bugs on the front end.

That is a good collection of photos. The tech bronze wheels almost look gray on the gray CT5 in the 1st pic. The wheels seem to contrast the blue the best and look a bit more gold on that paint color. Those wheels do look really good on red too.
I am really torn as the car looks so badass in black with black rims and that option is a bit cheaper- not like it matters that much when you look at the total price. I also dread having to clean 20 spoke wheels vs. 10 spoke. Hmmm.... Are you getting a CT5 or CT4? I was trying to justify a CT5 simply because of the motor by thinking well, if I add both carbon packages to the CT4 it is only another $10k to get a CT5...
By the way, the 2023 CT4-V Blackwing does seem like the perfect natural replacement for my '13 G37S 6 spd. sedan. And what an awesome improvement in 10 years of development!
I think I might be able to justify the tech bronze wheels as timely as they will be to clean by the fact that this car does not have a high spoiler that I have to worry about getting ripped off in our automatic wash at work so I can save a lot of time washing the rest of the car. My other thought was to get a more basic wheel with the car and then get some aftermarket wheels in a similar color with a lot fewer spokes and then use the factory rims for snow tires. However, tire rack, discount tire, and fitment all do not have a single wheel for this car yet. All in good time I suppose.
