Pretty easy to apply and has a pleasant smell. Doesn't leave any residue. The rag I used looked as though it picked up some dirt, so I guess it did its job? I focused on the door panels and dash.

 

Spent this morning working on this used OEM spoiler getting all the old double-sided tape scraped off and cleaned and then re-applied new tape to prepare for installation. Once installed, I'll try my hand at wrapping it in gloss black because the paint condition is too scuffed/scratched to be buffed out.

 

Funny you mention that, because there were about six clamps used on the previous exhaust. The Z1 has two, which connect the midpipe to each of the muffler sections and seem more than adequate in that position. Will update if I notice any kind of leaks.

 

Swapped out my floormats today. Car came with some rubber all-weather mats, which I'm happy to own, but they just aren't what I like to look at day-to-day. Grabbed the front/rear set of P2Ms and couldn't be happier. Stitching seems nice, fitment was perfect, and they're fairly affordable. Also wanted to throw on my Top Secret shift ****, but these cars need an adapter to run a longer shank **** it seems, bummer. Likely will be doing a quick release and one of my steering wheels as the next piece of interior tuning. I quite like the stock wheel, but the wear on it is a bit unsightly.

 

One of four handles replaced. Went with KH3 oem black. Rear handles are super easy to replace. Fronts take more effort bc you have to pop off the door panels because of the wiring. Nice new gaskets as well.

A fair amount of effort to source all of the parts and still waiting on the final rear door handle on its way. I believe I got the last KH3 escutcheon on earth, but I know a trick if anyone needed one - if you buy the escutcheon with the hole you get the solid piece as well 😁

Got a very important mod today, squash air freshener. Still trying to decide where to mount it, but I'm gonna throw it in tomorrow along with my Top Secret shift **** once my extension shows up.

 

Pretty cool they make those and at a relatively affordable price, but I've already got a couple Monte Carlo steering wheels and a Nardi Classic kicking around. I'd likely end up throwing in a quick release once I replace my driver's seat, so I'll just jump the gun a bit and do it soon.

There are knockoffs on Ebay which cost less. My steering wheel still looks and feels new, so changing it out is tough for me to justify, especially since Nissan did a great job on the look and feel of the OEM wheel.

 

Not so much what i did to my car today but what my dad did. He backed up into the passenger side with his truck while I was parked on his driveway. Funny thing is, he jokingly said he was going to hit my car, 15 seconds later he got distracted and boom. Oh well, I'll probably get a fresh new passenger side door and a front right quarter panel out of it. Get rid of some of those parking lot door dings.

 

Cut him a break as he's probably beating himself up over this...I had something similar happen when I was visiting family back east a few months back. Million things on my mind in a narrow driveway and backed the rental car into my niece's new Altima SE-R. Took me a week and a couple of grand to get over that mistake as I have not been in an accident of any kind for many years. Even bought her a set of contoured all season OEM Nissan mats because hers were the cheap carpeted ones and I felt like I needed to do more than just fix the car. Luckily, I was able to magic eraser the scuffs from the rental car.

 

I didn't really give him the gears that much, but since he called it out first I had to make fun of him just a little bit. He's got a pretty good package policy and our provincial insurance has 'no fault' coverage so this incident will cost $100 and some inconvenience. Overall, it's not that big of a deal, I find it funny that he said he was going to do it and then did it.

 

Next project incoming, adding the SKYLINE badge because my car is slowly pretending to be one.




I will soon over-engineer some sort of method to correctly position the emblem on the trunk cover. I removed the INFINTI emblem about 12 years ago, so while I won’t encounter ghosting, my emblem location reference is long gone…

Yay! Another SKYLINE badge project! I can help you with that. I MacGyvered that exact same problem 8 years ago. In fact, I think I still have the guide I used up in the attic somewhere. But it's pretty easy to walk you through it.

Do not remove the INFINITI letters before making the guide. Make the guide using them in place, then debadge them off the trunk. Wait... I have instructions in my build thread:
