M370 is in. Baffled catch can connected. Looks like I'll have to add a bit of material back to the cover at the back. Also, the logo needs to go black. Going to try and polish the strut bar this weekend.
I've seen a few on here trying to buy replacement emblems for the engine cover. How common is this? Seems pretty lame to me. Guess I'm just fortunate it stuck somewhere instead of ending up on the roadside.
I hadn't opened my hood in 4400 miles. It was fine the last time i was in there. Can't imagine how it sheared off all those little mounting pins.
Mine came off, it's epoxied into place now. Caught it on its last pin. They're held on by tiny squashed plastic pins and faith.
This might sound crazy, but I'm considering dislodging my engine cover Fuji, then reattaching it with a more secure adhesive.
And seriously... I open my hood like once a week to check fluids and clean up. Like anything, once you get something clean then it becomes that much easier to maintain what you've done than it is to ignore it. But if not for the latter, I'd still check fluids. Probably a little less often, too.

Im on the same boat with fluids. Coolant level, brake fluid level, oil level, all checked once a week. And the whole car in general. I do a quick walk around + tire check before heading out, and once a week do a walkaround light check to make sure all the lights are working and blinking correctly.
My emblem felt loose when I was painting the cover, it was on its last pin, so I ripped it off and just filled the whole back of the emblem with epoxy. Not going anywhere now. Its a good idea to do before you lose it. Seems all too common of an issue.
I think it's just a matter of time until it falls off, Rochester, so that's not a bad idea. Mine at least got caught up in the under-tray. I need to put it back on......
In the winter I usually dismantle the engine cover, front strut brace and air intakes. And often they sit on my dining room table for a week or more to get detailed. So I think I'll make note to do this Fuji intervention project then.
Thanks for the nudge, guys.
Hexotic, that's some serious attention. Good for you. Like you, I also eyeball all four tires when approaching the car. If I had a dollar for every time I pointed out to my wife or kids how someone else's tires are low while driving behind them, it still wouldn't be enough money to offset their eye-rolls.
On occasion. I don't make a habit of it though. In the year and half I've owned it, it has never used any so I don't lose any sleep over it. I checked initially and still coarsely measure what comes out. I'm impressed (or is it disturbed...?) by some of the others OCD inspection regimens. Where do you find the time?
I do have a '90 5.0 Mustang on the other hand that gets the oil checked every time I drive it. It uses a little and/or leaks a little and is the "convertible fun car" so it often sits for a month or more between uses though. Often much more in what we in the Northwest call the "Gray" season....
Another with the missing "Fuji" on the engine cover. The little piece of silver trim on the cup holder cover detached, too. Losing my respect for Infiniti.
Oh, forgot to add in my earlier post. Successfully did the idle relearn using the OBD2 Bluetooth thingy, and a free app called NDSIII Lite. Had to turn the car on with the parking brake engaged to make sure headlights didn't go on, and AC turned off. Might save someone some time in the future.

My cupholder piece was missing when I bought the car, had the dealer replace it. Ended up getting glue all over the leather on the cover... Older models didn't even have that piece, they added it to where the lid touches thee arm rest so a dent wouldn't form if it's always open. Stupid thing is, they made holes in the leather for it... Almost thinking of trying to find a new lid with no trim piece on it from an older G.

besides what you mentioned, do you have to do any special setup like run it immediately after turning it on or do anything else like make sure the car is upto temp?..I'd love to give this a shot I really hate doing the pedal dance
