Good list there.. and for you manual tranny guys I would add lightweight flywheel at #3.

I've already done 1 and 2 on your list and have never had any luck with light weight pulleys so I would skip that. That leaves me with the driveshaft next I guess.

I would put lightened flywheel at #5 because you have to remove the transmission. That's rather a bit of work and time. Almost as much as shorter rear gear.

When sorted by difficulty. Now take your list of five and rank them by effectiveness. Then rank them by NVH. And cost.

Start a new thread. Be that guy.

Cost and difficulty drive choice of most mods by most people.

I accept NVH increase of trans mount because mod was cheap and easy to install.

I added coupe wheels and wider tires. I'd love forged wheels for light weight, but damn, they're expensive. I have to balance tire weight with tire traction. Traction is king for me.

I want to buy 2-piece rotors: they're rather easy to install, but damn, they're expensive.

If I had a 6 mt, I doubt I'd install a lighter flywheel because of the work to pull the trans despite the relatively low cost. A lightened drive shaft is equivalent to 2-piece rotors to me.

Sorry I'm not playing your game. Any list I make has my biases built in. Including the original list I made. However, I look forward to reading your lists using your criteria. I like to see how other people think.

I'm thinking similar things, but too much OT for a "what did you do today" thread.

Removing the transmission in our cars is actually quite easy. I've had mine out a couple of times and can do it in about 4 hours. I believe the listed factory time for clutch replacement is 5 hours. Compare that to the clutch in my Porsche which takes me about 12 - 15 hours (and I've done that one 4 times) and it makes our cars seem very easy.

Make sure you swap those bendystraw plastic pieces to smooth silicone tubes from Z1 or Mishimoto. You will notice a much bigger difference than just having the pod filters. That is actually where a lot of air gets restricted and silenced.

New Centric rotors and Hawk 5.0 pads. The original rotors aren't bad at all. A light skim and they're ready for when the Hawks wear out. 48k miles on the original pads, including two track days.

I have the same pads but for me they are really noisy, let me know about your experiences after a couple miles

I don't get it. You're using new Centric rotors, or you're refinishing your OEM rotors with 48k miles on them... which is it?

Didn't know there was a HPS 5.0 over the standard HPS. What are your thoughts here, same-as but with a higher temp rating?
