I must say... These are pretty damn hefty lol. The quality of them caught me by surprise even though it's mentioned throughout the forums. Definitely some good stuff by SPL.
I got em for about $215 off ebay when they had their 20% off coupon a couple weeks ago.
I assume they're pretty straight forward to install myself or do you guys think I should have Firestone do it along with an alignment? (lifetime warranty)
Late update of brake install... so far so good, but they haven’t been pushed yet. Will do a more thorough review in time.
Don’t mind the dirt, she is due to be cleaned.... really shoulda did the barrels when the wheels were off but figured there’d be significant dust through pad bed in.
Killer setup, looking great behind those awesome wheels too! Which Wilwood pads did you go with? I'm running the BP10s and they've been a good performance street pad IME.
Went with BP10s as well. Definitely blew the budget in the wheel wells but it’ll be my last opportunity for a while... wedding in the plans for next year, followed by a new house. I now have my handcuffs on for the next couple years.
So I did another thing. Out of necessity as much as desire. I didn't want to put another set of tires on my horrible 17" factory wheels. 20x9 Rohana RC10s Et35. I went with 245/35/20 because I wasn't sure exactly how they would fit. Once I (if I ever get the time) install my Tein c/os I'm hoping there's room for a 255 or even 265 tire... Oh yeah, still need to wrap my trim in the black vinyl I bought months ago
Doesn't look as bad as I expected with the 20s but still needs to be lowered.
That's an odd thing with that single amber spoke. Not sure how I feel about it, but you certainly get props for creativity. Is that paint, or vinyl?
I wonder what that looks like when it's rolling?
It's actually Burnt orange metallic vinyl. I really don't like black wheels, but I got such a deal on them that I said i would give them a try. I'll get pics in better light. I just snapped that real quick leaving work. The car is Smoky Quartz Metallic and to me doesn't leave too many good color options. I thought the splash of color would be nice. It looks good in person (to me).
The tire is much more stretched than I want, but I plan to resolve that with 255 or 265/35s depending on clearance when it's lowered
I need to have my wife drive it away for me so I can see how it looks rolling too. Been wondering... lol
You should be able to make 9” work up front with some camber... I have 8.5” and am pretty neutral (38ET) but not fully flush. I stayed in a bit because the front fenders aren’t rolled out like the rears. When you go lower, the rears will be in need of a spacer to sit flush but that’s a personal preference thing. I am 9.5” 38ET.
