Cheesy or not, Mercedes-Benz wants $550 for the "Illuminated Star" option on the E-class coupe. So, it's not like Infiniti is gonna give away the illuminated Mt. Fuji for free anyway.
Personally, I think the illuminated emblems are cool, kinda like the illuminated kick plates, which I do have on my car. But I'd rather keep my $550. I wouldn't mind paying something like $250 for it, though.
If done right it looks nice, I like the MB version, but the Fuji looks too illuminated, I have the kick plates too and those are really nice, not bright, subtle class. But like you said, for $550 .... no thank you.
I'm guessing 3750- 3800 lbs
3.0 liter engine and more use of aluminum should save weight, while I'm sure there will be extra dampers and insulation to offset the weight savings from the former.
Not gonna have carbon fiber external bits on the production version. It can't cost more than the S5 which is the most cabable competitor. Realistically, it'll be somewhere around the RC350 money.
Won't be interested unless they throw a more powerful/New engine under the hood !
if it's going to be that old 3.7 again then that's a big fail .. at least to me!

They already said it will be 3.0TT. They might keep old 3.7 as a cheaper alternative to 3.0TT which I'm sure will not be a cheap engine.

That's one star trek reference. For total win in a single thread, we need at least three.
As much as I'd like the Coupe to always be just a little more expensive than the Sedan, I think it makes sense if they market the Coupe as an entirely separate car, with an entirely unique drive-train. However, the G25 and the Q40 lead me to expect anything can happen, even incomprehensible decisions.
