G37 7speed transmission reprogram
I have a 2012 G37x auto 47k miles on her. Anyone experiencing a clunk or "like hitting a pothole for a split second" or, one guy described it perfectly as, "if for a split second the car hits a brick wall". Also, a "thud" feel happens. But both descriptions accompany a split sec loss of power at the same moment. So im not sure it can be suspension related. It is so fast its really hard to explain. I noticed it 2 times while my girl was driving this morning, once accelerating and once decelerating. I experienced it again the a bit later today but hours later after I started her up and about 5 minutes in, I was accelerating. All times while at stop into an accel. and a low speed decel.
I was driving it the night before in manual mode pretty happily I will say (fast and not really furious, I live in NYC.) I hadnt done that before. Ive had the car for a couple of months and no real shifting issues. Pretty happy. Im just worried about this all of this sudden. Any one?
Im posting here because it sounds close to what im experiencing other than the jolt feeling for a split second. Very hard to explain. Any thoughts before I create my own thread would help!
Thanks!

The transmission and throttle response learns and adapts to driving style.IF you're in nyc then you must experience a lot of traffic.Driving the car slow in stop and go traffic slows down throttle response making it sometimes slow and unpredictable when you need. Only temporary remedy is to go hard on the gas pedal after you reset the cpu. I went to multiple dealers reflashed the ECUplenty of times and even the technicians have the same issues with their infinitis. The thud you described could just be transmission hard shifting. The tranny is not at all smooth and sometimes it will shift hard.
My 2010x coupe 7AT shifts hard from 3rd to 4th gear and I was always worried it was my trans. about to go till I did some research and realized it's a common Infiniti issue unfortunately. And if I'm on a slight hill and put it into reverse I feel it jerks way to hard but once again something normal. My only complaint about these cars for sure.
just had one of my buddies at dealership do the latest update thinking it would make it shift faster or something but now 3rd to 2ng gear down shift is really jerky. anybody else have this issue on latest update

I had the 027 update done on my '10 and it still was never perfect. For some reason the transmission in my '13 is much better. Maybe they did something different other than software in the 2013 models? Or it's hit and miss? IDK
I have a 2013 and just brought it into the dealership noting a little bit of transmission gear hunting. Apparently there was a code on the transmission module for manual mode only and there was a software update. Improved the shifting logic IMO by 25%. I am elated that it was updated.
How were you driving when the transmission did the gear hunting? It seems when I am in DS mode and I am slowing down to a stop my transmission makes the sound like I am slowing down in too high a gear, though I am not using the manual mode gear shifter or paddle shifters on steering wheel. I am just using automatic in the DS mode.
I was normally in DS (automatic) mode. I mean, regular D mode is lazy and for economy purposes...it's always slow there. DS would 80% of the time be spot on and do the gear shifting or holding or downshifting great...but a few times it would go wonky on me. This update (unknown what version) fixed it. Free update since under 60k.
What I was experiencing was in DS automatic mode, and when slowing down the car made the revving sound, as if I was in too low a gear to slow down to the speed I was going. Is this what you experienced?
