BTW my 2012 G37 is at the dealer right now. Just been told there are no updates available for the transmission for this car. (In case anyone with a 2012 wants to know).

I'm wondering if 2013 RWD doesn't need any update?

Does anyone know if there is anything else different in the 2013+ transmissions other than the software that causes them not to have this issue? Just curious.

Has anybody done the reflash with uprev tune????? My car is due for the new Infiniti software but I don't want to loose my uprev tune for a/f ratio and rev limiter and ect. Anybody updated and retained their uprev tune specs successfully? Infiniti dealership guy as no idea if it will or not and they won't let me talk to a technician over phone

Anyone know if there is a class action lawsuit on this? Hate to be so hostile but I bought an 09 G37x with remaining powertrain warranty (58k miles) till November 2015. Called consumer affairs they told me apparently it was free for the reprogram of the AT but dealer charged me $150 for the fee anyways.

I said no biggie, told dealer to do the 072b reprogram he did, it didn't do squat, went back he "updated to newest" version which has made it worse. In DS the downshift is so bad that when I was emergency braking couple of days ago, the car lurch FORWARD almost causing a collision. Dealer says trans fluid is good and does not need flushing, there are flares in 3rd and 4rd gear and surprise...surprise... ive crossed 60k miles so anything corporate will do for me?

My transmission is interesting. (09 s auto). It doesn't seem to have all these harsh shift problems, but it seems like it goes into a different mode sometimes.
Nearly every automatic I've had tends to go into the higher gears based on throttle input. For instance- if I'm in a residential area and driving between 10-30 mph slowly, rpm's will shift at 1500 or even lower. Some cars just wait for that minimal shift point though, like 1500, 1700, 2000, then shifts. Well my G is like that most of the time. I pull out of my driveway and it won't shift into second until it passes 2000 rpm, or I'm cruising down he street at 25 mph and rpms are at 1900, it won't upshift even in manual. BUT- sometimes it goes into a different mode where it will shift like I believe it should, and it seems like it only does it in traffic, like frequent stop and go it'll go for higher gears, it'll even shift into 7th when i'm only going 30 or so, so the rpms will be ~1000, or even 900 haha. But it's hard to reproduce, I have to take off really slow. Like annoyingly slow- hence it only does this in bumper to bumper traffic. I dorve a 5.0 GT automatic 2013 the other day, and that transmission was so much nicer in a variety of driving situations. It's totally based on throttle input. My G has preset shift points that are too high for slow driving.

My G at time feels like throttle response is not there or its in the wrong gear as power is not there. Too bad dealer doesn't have a flash for 2012 model. I am going to try a grounding kit.

I just had my 2011 done yesterday, out of warranty, the service manager agreed to do it, as a goodwill repair, the service writer was a **** about it.
The reprogram made a huge difference in the driveability of the car, very happy.

Is there a way to check whether the transmission on my 2010 G37x is programmed up to date? I'm curious to see whether the car has already been reprogrammed.

Also is the reprogram covered by powertrain warranty or if not how much to pay for it?

Same here on my '13. I did the Stillen grounding kit and it didn't make a difference. It's just a lazy transmission. Figures... First automatic I've bought in almost 30 years and it's a dog.... I guess I just need to adjust my driving style more. Most of the time it's not an issue but when you need the power and there is a 2 second lag and the thing shifts 2 gears too low it gets really annoying.

Take it to the dealer, if it has warranty still it will be updated for free

It really only happened once where it felt like how I described. It was after I was getting after it on the highway then I slowed down to a cruising 55mph but as I attempted to romp on the gas again, it didn't take off as usual.

The grounding kit didn't work for you? Maybe after I get some HFC installed I will pay for a custom tune and tgat should fix the issue.

I'm sure it's doing what it's suppose to be doing but I didn't feel any difference in the way the car shifts.
