Ask them their hourly rate for diag. then tell them it only takes .5 hours and that is all it is worth.

I'm taking my 2009 x sedan in today for an oil change and to check for the latest transmission update. Im sick of the harsh downshifts and lag when coasting near 20 MPH and then applying the throttle. Hoping this will make the car better!

Took my recently purchased 2012 G37S sedan in for a non illuminating clock and asked the service advisor if he could let me know if the car had the latest TCM program.

When I picked up the car he indicated that there was indeed an update available and he had the tech install the update.

I was reading this thread before I took it in and while I was not experiencing hard downshifts or misses I could feel a little bit of a lag and unresponsivness. After the update that has been resolved. Very happy with it. Being covered under warranty sure helps too. I'll have to take my wife's car in to get the same update for sure.

Just scheduled to drop mine off next Saturday. I too have been having odd down shifts and lag in power. Hope this is as dramatic as people say it is. The rep said not all of the cars are available for the update but I believe my 2009 G37x should be..

Pretty sure my '09 was never updated...been debating whether I want to spend the $150 or whatever it is to have it done since I'm out of warranty. Shifts are pretty rough but I've gotten used to it lol

The earlier ITB, ITB09-032b only applies to 2009 model year G37. That's the update I believe I will need.

I had ITB12-027A applied to my 2009 G37. I had ITB09-032B applied before that, but MUCH prefer ITB12-027A.

I remember noticing it right away. Honestly I didn't expect much, but recall being surprised that I could tell the difference. It's been years so I can't exactly remember what the differences were, but "being in the right gear all the time" seems to stick in my mind.

Ah yes, that will be nice. Did you request that specific one?

It was the current ITB at the time. I was taking my '09 in for its last check over before the 4 year warranty ran out, and asked if there were any new transmission updates out. They said there were, and I basically agreed. It was no issue. I told them it was shifting okay but not ideal. Still a bit rough. It was nice to drive, afterward.

They replaced all sorts of stuff that trip, big one was my AC compressor which was making more noise than it should. Sewell Infiniti Dallas has always been good to me.

Well that's good. Yeah the only issue w/ my car is the shifting and what seems like "turbo lag" w/o a turbo lol.

Does anyone know how long this reflash takes to perform?
