I'd say this discussion has mostly run its course. I'm surprised how little there is about the short-shifter, and how much there is about the transmission mount. And while I was super pleased to see so many people try out the transmission mount (and in Liam's case, find an alternative), I'm still shocked at some of the negative reactions.

Oh well.

Here is a link to your build thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/build-t...37s-fi-tt.html

Put it in your sig line, and it it will be everywhere you post.

You wrote this in your thread:

...and while that's probably very encouraging to someone considering both urethane mounts (transmission and engine), I strongly (!!) suspect what's happening is that they don't add anything noticeable on top of everything else you've done. Your car is a monster. Making it growl a little more is probably irrelevant.

I can only imagine what it's like to drive your Coupe. That's one seriously impressive build.

To be honest, even though I can tell the mounts have stiffened things up (shifter not moving much on accel, motor not torqueing the front of the car so much), the extra vibrations are hardly noticeable to me. Either they haven't increased much or I just don't care about them.
Oh is that all? No wonder you cannot tell if the motor mounts change much as far as NVH.

I'm young and stupid.... Ish... And I live in the high band rpms on the weekend and I still love my z1 Trans mount. I love my sts too! I'm super glad I went with the twm. I think it's perfect... Hopefully I'll get around to installing my rjm assembly this weekend too. That would be great. Then all i need is a clutch set up and a HD csc and my drivability should be cherry.

According to Z1, the mount is "height adjustable", and the bushing can be swapped out. Perhaps that's some kind of locking bolt, designed to keep things in place? That would explain the unoccupied, threaded hole right next to it.

IDK man... unscrew it and see what happens.

I'm currently on page 10 reading through this thread. But I believe the cement truck sound is the throwout bearing in the tranny. If it's noisy and you still have warranty infiniti will swap out trannies. It's not a part to be replaced for some reason.
When I was looking for my car came across a few that had their trannies replaced for noise.
Mine actually got louder after the rjm clutch pedal swap I guess because it actually fully let go on the pressure plate and or clutch.

I honestly don't know. Gave it to my mechanic as-is, and he did the install.

You know, maybe it's there just to hold the components in position for installation? I think a simple email to Z1 would get your answers.

And I think your previous comment about the noise in your transmission was intended for another thread.

So... Furlow bought it new, immediately uninstalled and sold it to Lego, who immediately uninstalled and sold it to ToXic?

LOL, wow. That's one busy little mount. There's a joke in here somewhere, I'm sure.

Probably less than 1000. I had it on my car for 3 days and less than 50 miles.

Mine is now enroute. Also ordered a durometer to test its stiffness. I'll make it available to test the Z1 mount. Someone in this thread mentioned they'd be interested in doing so. Pipe up to remind me.
