Well if you daily drive the car the engine/trans mounts from Z1 can't be that bad for NVH. Do you notice any unusual NVH from the engine area at anytime?

Low RPM, high load (3rd gear going 25 in neighborhoods) I can hear the clutch and driveline more. I also have a lighter weight steel flywheel and Stage 3 clutch, so I don't know if I can attribute the noise to the mounts or the clutch, or probably both. Either downshifting or increasing the RPM even 250 seems to get rid of it.

Just ordered my TWM Short Shifter and weighted shift ****. Now just waiting for a reply from RJM for the pedal assembly to place my order. Can't wait to install this combination!

Welcome to the club, Pedro. Excellent driving mods. No regrets.

IIRC, after you drove my car with the RJM pedal last Summer, you were going to order one immediately. Well... never too late.

Thank you sir. Yeah I was but mod bug bit me a little differently and ended up ordering Stillen Gen 3's, art pipes, and Motordyne manifold before.

Hoping to install the pipes, manifold, rjm, ss, and **** sometime next week.

All those things installed at the same time? Yikes!

Keep in mind, RJM is Canadian, and things don't always ship across the border as quickly as we'd like. Good luck.

Hahaha, well that's the goal. We'll see exactly how far I can get. I just double checked tracking and if all goes well I should have the pedal assembly on Friday.

so I'd been on the fence about removing my tranny mount for awhile.
I felt it got in the way of enjoying my engine sound and it absolutely drowned out any noise I thought I heard of the Tanabe.

So I had someone drive alongside me on the highway and film my car pulling in 4th gear. I was very happy with the sound it made as I sped by at 60+mph revved up. Then set my phone down in front of the exhaust and recorded. also was happy.

Now I consider this mod almost like that absurd feature BMWs have where it amplifies or creates exhaust notes through the car stereo but this is more on the hetero side of the rainbow.

it'll stay for now.

Glad someone else stuck with it. I was feeling kind of self-conscious here, on an island with 4DRZ.

I've said it ad nausea now, but the new normal is such that I would have to drive someone else's stock 6MT in order to appreciate the difference. If I see SomeName again, I might ask that politely... or someone at the August meet-up.

However (!!!), while I stand by that statement, I also don't live in the high RPM band. My driving behavior is more like a slow roll in high gears, with occasional bursts off the line and hard 2nd pulls (and/or hard 3rd gear pulls into the highway.) In other words, I do not drive the way Lego drives. Just don't. So with his comments in mind this past week, I've been observing things at the 5-6k RPM range, and will readily admit that there is a lot more resonance growl going on in the high rev bands. A whole lot.

So... there's that.

haha, there is a solid NW presence of G/Zs here but I never see other 6MT sedans. lots of coupes of course so I may ask to ride in one sometime to check it out because I agree. I can't remember what the "before" was either....... :-\

I drive like you. if I get above 4500 RPMs I start cringing.

once in awhile maybe.

@Rochester I often find myself in 5th gear at 35 mph. Just no point to drive hard around here. Lots of lights, all grid. If the roads were more exciting, I could see playing through the rev range, otherwise, why waste fuel and tires...

So now you did the clutch, flywheel, motor, and trans mounts all at the same time? Anything else you did at the same time that would obviously add to the noise?

CBE with ART test pipes and 2 turbos. When I got it back, the exhaust was definitely louder and noticeable. Now that it has some miles my tolerance has either adjusted or it has quieted down. I am sure the turbos help quiet it down a bit when not in boost. To be honest, even though I can tell the mounts have stiffened things up (shifter not moving much on accel, motor not torqueing the front of the car so much), the extra vibrations are hardly noticeable to me. Either they haven't increased much or I just don't care about them.

Link to your build thread?

Because you better have a build thread.

It is one of maybe 2 threads I have started. I don't want to clog Rochester's thread with the link for it. I just came to give my review also of the NVH of the trans and motor mounts for those interested.
