I think if you had stock exhaust and a stock suspension it might feel a little harsh or loud.
I have neither a stock exhaust or stock suspension

Maybe it's the frequency of the noise, IDK.....

What type of exhaust do you have and what is it about the mount you don't like?

Glorified muffler delete.

Noise is too much. And there is terrible vibration around 2000 rpm when lugging the engine.

I cut through a residential neighborhood on my commute. In order to discourage that, it's littered with speed humps. I generally just leave it in 2nd the whole time, but it's obnoxiously loud. If I shift to 3rd, I have to downshift for every speed bump or else the revs get too low and the car vibrated like crazy.

I'm on the highway for 1 exit, 4 miles. Usually I'm in 5th at right under 4000. Again, it's just obnoxious.

Maybe it's the conditions I drive in and my driving style

I loved the tightness, but the noise was too much for me.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "glorified muffler delete," but I am guessing it is not as loud as an aftermarket exhaust? Maybe that is why it seems loud to you. I can hardly hear it with my Stillen exhaust, and Stillen is not very loud as far as aftermarket exhausts go (but significantly louder than stock). I also don't drive around in 2nd gear and it sounds like that is when you are hearing it. So yes, your driving habits and probably your lack of aftermarket exhaust are amplifying the loudness of the trans mount for you.

This was my exact feeling as well. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

Invidia Q300 cat back.

IDK, you and Rochester seem to be in the minority. But yeah, I think a lot is my driving style. My average shift point is probably 6000 rpm

It's all good

Now I'm really confused. You have a terrible vibration at 2,000 rpm when you lug the engine in too high of a gear, but your average shift point is at 6,000 rpm

I've always thought the Invidia was relatively quiet compared to some, similar in volume to the Stillen.

I'll be able to offer an opinion in a few weeks.

Reread the scenario I described where I experienced the vibration and you won't be confused

So it is only loud at 2,000 rpm? Take a different route to work. Problem solved

Sweet! I'm looking forward to that, whatever happens.

Sometimes if I let the engine pull down from very high rev in 2nd or 3rd gear, without any throttle, there is a massive resonance because of the transmission mount. It's pretty shocking. Like nothing I've ever heard before in a car. I know I referred to this observation when I first got the mount installed. However, it's a rare thing, and became less common (or less noticeable) as the weeks ticked by. By rare, I mean it's been weeks since I heard & felt it last.

If this is what you're experiencing, and it's a regularly recurring event, then heck yes I'd ditch the mount too. And if speedbumps are making you roll through a neighborhood at 6000k RPM with the engine in full load on decel in 2nd gear... well, there it is.

That's a far better way to describe it. Maybe the mount needs broke in

It's an easy swap. Like 45 minutes.

You're misinterpreting me but you get the point. If you rolled through a residential neighborhood, in second gear, at 25-30 mph, you're no where near 6K. The mount is absolutely obnoxious at that load.

Shifting to 3rd is certainly an option. But then I need to downshift to second--or first, for one of two stop signs. And I can't lug the engine down, or it resonates through the whole car.

It's the same thing on the expressway. I'm not on long enough to be cruising, I'm just keeping up with traffic, where the speed limit is 70 and traffic is moving at 80 and I leave the car in 5th. You know, because 4th is so much closer should the need arise to pass slower moving traffic

4DRZ is right. I need a new route.

^^^ Seems like Nissan/Infiniti understood that the transmission mount needed to be made of pudding to keep the NVH at a normal level.

Unfortunately I can't say as I did both at the same time.
