Lets try erasing the diagnostic information:

Turn the car to ON and ground the wire. Leave it grounded for a few seconds and then turn the car off with the wire still grounded.

See if you can get the light to flash after that.

I tried that advice too and still no change. The light just stays solid at all times. :-/

 

Whats the need for running the ground all the way to the door? Just use some of the metal under there.

 

well i tried that too and wasnt positive all the objects under the steering wheel area were fully grounded.

just to be sure i tested the door jam for ground, and i had a long piece of copper wire available so i used that to the door jam.

lol im in the same boat as Kverdina. Mines just blinks for a minute then stays on. Tried every single piece of metal down there but it just won't do anything. Though i haven't filled it to the proper psi first. Gonna try that in the morning.

 

My light doesnt blink anymore when I start it up LOL, It just constantly stays on right from start up.

I filled all my tires to 37 psi after I did all the wire procedures, so I don't think I'm low. I wonder if the car thinks my tire pressure is too high?? Is that possible.

 

hmm could be. Try the original spec (33 psi?).

 

I just dropped to 35 psi. Will drive the car tomorrow to work and hope for the best. If that doesn't work I'll drop the psi further, but I've always ran my cars with about 2 psi above factory specs without a problem. Wish me luck.

 

You have to completely start over with the tire pressures set as specified. A few things I think you should check if it's not working:
1) I'm stating the obvious here, but make sure you have 4 working sensors in the tires.
2) make sure tire pressures are set exactly like Modme's original post. This seems to be how it learns the individual positions of each sensor.
3) make sure you are putting the wore into the one pin in the harness where the connection is. You should see a tiny piece of metal inside. It's really hard to see, but it looks as if there is only one hole that will make this work.
4) after turning the car to the on position, touch the other end of the wire to a body ground 5 times within 10 seconds. The metal around the OBD port is NOT grounded, it's attached to plastic. Painted metal is no good. I used a bolt head inside the front of the door jamb down low.
5) after touching it 5 times, wait for a couple of minutes. Normally the light flashes for 1 minute then remains solid if there's a TPMS malfunction. If you've succeeded in putting it into learn mode, it will just keep on flashing. After 2 minutes, you know it is learning. Drive off as instructed. It took me 5 minutes of driving for the light to go dark. Now go right away and inflate tires to the proper pressure so the light doesn't come on to indicate that some of your tires are low. I drove about 6 miles home and it didn't come on.

sure you did read, I have tried many time and followed Modems instructions about the proper psi to use for each tire. I still didn't get to leaning mode.

What's more puzzling is that my TPMS light no longer blinks for 60 secs when you first start the car like it used to. It no remains steady lite on from the moment I start the car up. I'm wondering if it will still work for me, or if my TPMS is in some other mode. I've tried what Muyrec suggested about lowering my air pressure and will see what happens on my eay to work in the morning.
