The light will flash nonstop. Normally, it would flash and remain steady. If it is placed in the learning mode, it will continue to flash. So let it flash a couple minutes before starting and driving away.

K. It normally stops and stays solid after 60 seconds. I'll try it a few times and see if I can get it to continually flash.

Ok I've tried it several times without success.

I set all the tires to the PSI you posted. Then found the plug and inserted a paper clip. Turned the ignition to ON then tapped it against the metal right next to the OBDII port 5-6 times. The light still goes solid after 60 seconds.

Are you sure the metal bracket for the OBDII port is grounded? I've opened that area up a few days ago and it was just attached to plastic, as far as I can remember. I'll test it out later today and let you know.

Oh ok. I'll see if I can find another place to tap it.

Tried it three times unsuccessfully. The last time I feel it was activated for sure. I let the car sit for 4 minutes and it continued to flash. Drove for 20 minutes but it never went out. But after thinking about it I remember reading this in the shop manual before when I was trying to this and I thought there was something you still had to do with the consult III. I'll see if I can find it.

Ok I tried it again on another spot and it worked. I let it sit for a few minutes and it stayed flashing then went for a drive. It went off after 5-10 minutes. Then it never came back on. I guess I didn't let enough air out of the tires. Anyways now it is not comming on any more.

Thanks so much for this. Now I don't have to make a stupid trip to the dealer. THANKS!

You're welcome! I just did this too and it worked like a charm. A couple of tips:

-Make sure you are touching a grounded metal.
-Touch the wire 6 times within ten seconds putting the car in ON position.

Make sure you set the tires to the correct pressure. Remember that after you get in the car, the front tire pressures will increase slightly. If the light is flashing nonstop, then you are already half way there.
